Parts are $1200 to $2000 from most of the ones I have seen. The labor I have seen on three different work orders ranged $3700-$4400. Which is high because mazda book time is 17 hrs. But I have seen people post they have received estimates up to $9000 !!
You said you had the same issue. Did you try the "fix" ?
I understand what the tech was saying. On cornering ir body roll there is a twist or torsion applied to the chassis. I just dont understand the origin if the creak. I removed the "cowl plate" which doubles as a strut tower brace, no...
Man. Thats disappointing. I didnt want to say anything but the orientation of the strut bearing on most vehicles is irrelevant, but good excuse to go in there and replace them. So they replaced both upper strut bearings and rubber bushings.....no help. wow. I was hoping that those items, or...
You can get the two under the plastic cover by popping the plastic rivets and getting them with a 12mm combination wrench by slipping it under the plastic cover. The important ones are the 4 bolts on each side on the strut towers.
I soaked my front stabilizer bushings with Fluid Film which is Lanolin basicly. No help. But at least mazda is staying on top of stuff like this. Nice to hear. On my list is to remove both sway bar end links and secure the sway bar out of the way and try to duplicate. Kinda sketchy TS...
Thats the Cylinder Deactivation issue. Different then the 2.5T issue. Only on normally asperated engines. Why mazda thought it was a good idea to ruin a perfectly good engine and put CD in I will never know. Same screw uo Honda did to their v6 engines when they put VCM on them 20 years ago...
Anybody here put on a strut tower cross brace? Thinking of putting one on. Here is one but maybe more options out there.

I wish mazda would have built the CX90 with an inline 6, multi port fuel injected, no turbo, and a beefed up 6 speed tranny like the CX-9 (bulletproof by the way). And a no highbryd option. JUST MAKE A NORMAL CAR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Mazda? Mazda? You listening?
It will. They are putting in the seals that Mazda has used for years. I have read the 57 page replacement procedure. Its a good fix. The 21s have the updated head so car should be solid. Not 100% convinced on that cx-90. Definitely not for the price they put on it. I plan on driving my 22...
Yea, mine will do the single creak or pop when beginning a right or left turn from a stop. But once it creaks/pops to the right it wont do the right creak/pop again until it does a left creak/pop. That why the cowl plate made sense and a bushing rotating in its bore on the LCA made sense also...
This is really great information. Thank you for posting it. I have been trying to figure this out for quite some time. I don't know how clear my audio file was but did the sound in my upload sound like your sound?
