if you find a way to check the fuel pressure, you could check if you lose your fuel pressure after the car is turned off. I beleive the fuel pressure should stay for a little while in the lines. It might be it or not but that's the only thing that comes to my mind. I beleive there is some sort...
The support for the right axle is on the engine block, not the PTU itself, they are wrong. Also, the right shaft goes through the PTU. They can't see it from underneath if they never did a job like this, you can remove the right drive axle without taking out the PTU. There are 2WD CX9 and they...
You didn't search hard enough, it has been discussed many times in this forum, do a search under my name I explained it a couple of times. Short answer is yes it can be done.
Usually it is the transmission splines that give first as they rust and get destroyed into little rust powder, the chewed splines in the TC is the result of the pieces of metal in the transmission's output that runs around in there. The TC slips and then it is pretty much over.
Yeah, what he said, if there is rust it might be the splines that go out, once everything explodes than you are good to keep it running in fwd. You shouldn't have any problem but it is highly unpleasant during winter if you have snow.
No need to remove it, i removed mine because i wanted to...
so do i, seems like the fuel in the fuel lines turns into fumes or you don't have any fuel pressure. Could be a faulty fuel pump or hose inside the tank. Check out the manual and see if there is a way to monitorize the fuel pressure
wow that sucks, thanks for the feedback, this is not an easy job. Lesson learned i guess for the next time... Don't let that discourage you from working on your own car, when you do it right, it is very gratifying.
On an other note, i don't see how it could have bent a rod, maybe you have some...
if it was the water pump it would not leak on the floor but in the engine oil which you could not see unless you check your oil.
First time i hear about the freeze plug but i would try and get t fixed. If it is in a bad spot you might need to get the engine removed. Mazda doesn't have anything...
i don't know where you are located but here in Canada i would say the 07 on the market are between 4k and 5k canadian$ but they all have less milleage than mine. And even at those prices, i am not even sure they are selling. The weather destroys the car around here, after 12 years, they really...
my awd is dead, it starts to show rust in some spot, need a new windshield, new driver door hinges, probably new A/C compressor since it is leaking a little bit and now the head gasket... Taking out the exhaust manifolds is going to be a pain in the butt, all the cars get rusty around here with...
well after all i do have some small debris in the overflow but is it because of the head gasket or because the car is 200k miles old... I beleive it must be head gasket since i really can't see any sign of coolant in the oil and there is no outside leak... I guess this is the end of my CX9...
