if it was the fob you wouldn't even be able to turn the car ON.
Check at the starter if it receives the 12V signal while someone is trying to start it. If the 12V is there, you have a bad starter. If it doesn' than your problem is somewhere else. Also make sure the battery is good, a bad...
the wire is on top of the differential, it might be just about to rip apart or one of the 2 is cut but makes contact from time to time. Otherwise i don't know.
i would disassemble the side of the seat to go to the mecanism as there must be something stuck in there. It might be something that slid there and is jamming the mecanism. If the cable doesn't work than something is preventing it from moving, either the cable is stuck in it's sleeve (which i...
if your transfer case is bad and you don't live in a climate where it is usefull, who cares if it works or not? If it is shot and you didn't realise for over a year than maybe it is because you don't really need it.
Rear wheel bearing tend to go bad on these and they are not easy to change...
I have a problem on mine, actualy both of them, i do not have the card though, i have the regular key. The led won't lit when i press the lock unlock button, i changed both batteries and still same problem, sometimes will work and sometimes it won't. I beleive it is a bad connection inside but...
Yes, you can't see it but the passenger side axle shaft actually goes across the TC and hooks inside the trasmission so once they remove it, they will see it is doable. I understand their concern as I had the same but it does work.
if you live in a warm climate and never do any off roading than taking it out is probably your best solution. Easy, you need to remove the cat converter which is the hardest part but honestly it is not all that bad, you will probably need new exhaust gaskets but that's it. Any independant shop...
if you drain the TC (which you can't because there is no drain plug) the gears will still turn and they will get hot and eventually the TC will explode because it will seize. Your best way is to completly remove the TC, yes car will still run, i have done it as plenty other people, do a search...
There are plenty of threads on this but short answer is yes, you can leave it like that and remove the driveshaft for added safety, I personally leave the transfer case out of the car also.
I repaired one of mine, personnally it was a contact inside that would not always work, try to see when it doesn't work if you try to lock or unlock the doors with the fob, does the little led on it lights up or not. If it doesn't, than you know it is power related (contact or battery). I opened...
