Appreciate the suggestions. 👍🏻 I have a Powerlife lifetime engine/transmission warranty. If it’s a cylinder head/block issue, I’m covered. Unfortunately, the water pump isn’t included. Dang!
I talked with the service rep today. It’s rare… The leak was clearly coming from the water pump. They would test the compression if they thought it was a cylinder head crack. As soon as I pick the CX-9 up next week, I’ve got to run it over to the body shop because I hit a deer a couple months...
2018 CX-9 Signature is getting the water pump replaced at 64k miles. Brought it in for an oil change and anti freeze was spotted all over the place but never dripped on my garage floor. Taking 10 days for the part to arrive. Anyone else with WP issues… if so, at what mileage?
Might try turning off the TCS (traction control system) Not sure if it’ll help, but it might. The cars I had in the 70’s and 80’s didn’t have TCS and I don’t remember having issues like that. See what happens and report back.
I chose my 2018 because it handles nice, is quiet inside and was built in Japan. There are only a couple things I don’t like about it: The front A pillars are too big, it doesn’t have a CD player and the infotainment system is not easy to navigate. I wish it got a couple more mpg as well...
When there are slight road imperfections I sometimes get a low rattling sound on the top of the steering column. When I press down on it, it’s gone. On smooth roads there are no issues.
Sorry if this has already been posted. I have a 2018 CX-9. When opening the rear hatch with the key fob, I’m hoping to unlock the doors at the same time. Can this be done? Thanks!
My 2018 CX-9 came new with Falkens. I’m having the dealership replace that set at 48k miles with the same tires. Mazda is running a special starting 9/1. You get one free tire when buying a set of 4. The price they quoted was comparable to an independent shop we sometimes use except the dealer...
In our house, I painted some interior doors and trim with water based paint. I did this because the guy at Sherwin Williams guaranteed me, “This paint is much improved over the older versions of water based trim.”
Not only could I NOT get the paint to flow worth a rats ass, this crap didn’t...
Just me in there today.
That feeling you get when your body is unconsciously bracing itself for acceleration and then everything bogs down is just sooo weird. Definitely not a comfortable feeling. 😯
Well, the “Uphill Slowdown” happened again today. Loss of power for about 1 1/2 LONG seconds on a busy state roadway.
I’ve been using nothing but high quality fuel and I always ease into the accelerator. I’ll go to the dealership (I’m lucky to have a good one) and have them check it out.
Thanks for your thoughts. It paints a nice picture of the differences in these cars.
I love to drive. Like I said in an earlier post, if I were a wealthy man, I would get a Cayenne. I really connected with that car. That is my idea of what a great car feels like.
I’m German / Italian and I...
