Upon closer inspection, I see that you can loosen the ball socket. The set I purchased does come with a new set so hopefully that'll make things easier.
Thanks!
I'm going to replace the struts to the hatch door/liftgate in the coming week. I took a quick glance at the current ones that I'm assuming are OEM (Showa is the brand name), and it looks like there are two bolts securing a strutr bracket to the chassis. And then the strut's socket goes over a...
Up for sale is a set of new/unused Clear Lamin-x Headlight and Fog Light Films for MY 2008-2010 Mazda5. I was clearing out my garage and found these lying around and no longer need them. Both installs are very forgiving, but the headlight films are going to more difficult to install. Please...
Up for sale are a set of new/unopened Lamin-X Clear Fog Light Films for the P5. I have these installed and they're great at protecting the fog light glass. They're very easy to install and have a very forgiving install process. I was clearing out my garage and found these extras. No longer...
Sounds like you need to purchase a new seatbelt receiver. They're about $40 a piece and IMO, not worth trying to fix since it's a safety-related item that you want to work properly.

Pretty certain you have a GT since you have heated seats. Nav was an option even for the GT. Another way to tell if you have a GT is if you have factory HIDs (there should be a dial to the left of the steering wheel that lets you adjust the height of the beams from 0 to 3).

I was running an MP3 ECU for a little while and noticed a drop in mileage. IIRC, it was down to mid 20's. I winded up returning it and going to stock ECU.
I drive like a grandma in town - mostly shifting between 3-4K RPMs and from 3rd to 5th to cruising speed. 195 fill ups since I purchased my P5 in 2010 and average has been 30.7 MPG.
I had a similar issue and initially checked all fuses and relays. They turned out to be ok, but it still turned out to be the fuel pump relay. We took off the relay and checked that it was still clicking, but it turned out that it would fail when the car was hot; it would cut off and stall the...
The Dorman one I got was $26 shipped from Amazon and it'll be here Monday. What condition is your OEM in and is it the original? If so, I'll just stick with the one I ordered since the plastic will probably crack sooner than the Dorman.
The original coolant overflow tank has finally developed some cracks after 13 years. I'm planning to replace it with a Dorman unit in the coming days. Upon quick glance last night, it looks like the tank is secured by sliding it on a vertical bracket that's bolted to the frame. And there's a...
The headlight units/dimensions are the same size overall, but the reflector housing in the headlights are different due to the different bulb configuration as you mentioned. But both headlights will fit fine on either model using the same bolts. And Sedan housings have amber corners where P5...
I like dark gray/graphite. You can go to your local auto parts store and get wheel specific paint. May want to look into using a primer and clear coat for better durability. I think sandblasting might be overkill, but if you have a machine readily available then go for it. Some sandpaper to...
What trim level 2013 MZ3 are you getting? I've personally been casually looking at Mazda3s as well knowing my P5 isn't gonna last forever even though it's in good physical and working condition. Been wanting to get out of a MT car to make it easier on the family to have a second dependable car...
