Ahhh OK. Sorry...I reread your original post and realized I misread it the times before. From your pic, it looks like the headlights are projecting light forward and even cutoff. You're saying the foreground light is noticeably less? Hard to see in front of you at night?
I see you've posted...
Are both of the hot spots coming from the replaced headlight? If possible, can you block off the good headlight with a towel and see what the beam pattern is like with just the one in question?
Are you certain they replaced the headlight with an OEM HID unit? Can you take some pics of the beam aimed against a wall so it'll be easier to see what's going on?
The OEM HID beam pattern from the 2010 Mazda5 headlights should look like this:

I'm bound to purchase them at some point - they've been saved in my ebay watch list for more than a year now...LOL. I had the same exact blue tint wide convex mirrors when I had my MS3 and they were wonderful. I wired up the anti-fog connections, too, and they worked well (even though I hardly...
This might also be an option if you don't mind blue tint on the mirror glass:

This is from an RX-8, but it might work. I just went out and looked at my P5 driver's mat hook and they look very similar. Might be worth a shot:

I just changed the oil last week to a high mileage 5W-30. Wonder if that had anything to do with it.
In any case, I was afraid it might be the rear main seal. What would keep the oil at a lower level determine?
