Good thread; thanks to all. Here's my position: Our 2019 CX-5 has yet to hit 30,000 miles. We have other cars to drive, so it's use is for longer trips, etc. We are retired so that helps, (except financially!!!!) I expect to drop my dealer for service work, and he's a 160 mile round trip...
Thank you all. Oh. LOF is an old, common way of saying, "lube, oil, filter." Began back when most rigs still had a lot of zerk grease fittings to, "lubed," with a grease gun.
Thank you. Called my Mazda dealer this afternoon....figured I'd get one more LOF from them. Now the $70 service is $90. I guess I'm now done with the dealer. Foothills Mazda, Spokane, WA
Guess that says it: Our Spokane dealer just raised LOF service from about $70 to $90. Time to go elsewhere. Am thinking of using genuine Mazda oil filters, - any tips for sources or am I stuck with dealer??? Same question for motor oil. Search didn't bring up what I was looking for...
Thanks guys.... erhayes: what do you mean by, "...a guide on levels, etc."?
My plan all along since we got this car NEW, was to stay with the dealer's $70 LOF, tire rotation and car wash until the 3-yr. BtoB Warranty had expired. Then, move to independent mechanic here. Three years have...
I'm coming up on 30,000 miles on our 2019 CX-5. Dealer says we need to have them do a brake fluid flush and replace fluid in both differentials. For a mere $750.00 before taxes. Ha. Most here say neither is required at all per Mazda. Is IT? Through the years many have suggested changing...
Last night I went out to the car and gave it a try. I discovered the, "button," to use was the one between the, "off-hook," cell button, (far left, bottom), and the top button for increasing volume. I pressed it, heard a beep and said, "call xyz." It did. Now.....I did have my iPhone 6S in...
Perfect. Thank you. Interestingly, in my glove box manual folder/packet, there is NO separate infotainment manual. In the BIG manual, there is NO "infotainment" heading in the index. Information may well be there, but it might require thumbing through all zillion pages. Your link told me...
2019 CX-5: Our iPhones work just find interconnected wirelessly with the car. Mic/speakers cut in when calling/receiving calls, (music cut out during call) It's a great feature. This past week end riding with my Cousin in his 2015 Ford pickup, he often spoke up saying, "Call John Doe on...
Got it done. Took half of today. I think the slow download glitched periodically with internet connection. Anyway, it finished by saying take SD card back to car. That comes next
Thank you, everyone.
1. Are we talking about the main Mazda website/access?
Or, the.....MyMazda site? For map updates????????
I've spend 90 minutes struggling with MyMazda today. Finally got past passwords, only to hit a screen that was all black, (url line said something like...
I had understood from earlier post here, that the Mazda dealer will update car's navigation maps for free until the 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty expired. Twice, (again today), I asked my dealer if he could do that. Both times he said they do NOT do that, the car's owner does it himself...
Thank you. I do already have a card reader. Puzzled a little though at your suggestion. Are you saying get the card reader so I can plug car's SD into my computer to download updates myself? (Logical) I've been told I can go to Mazda site and do just that myself, but wouldn't it be better...
ceric, thanks. When my side mirrors decided to only operate a third of required travel, it was the morning after dealer did LOF and WASHED our car. Coincidence? Ha. I intended to, "film," the failure but by the time I got to it in the afternoon, they'd began working again. I called and...
Another question, planning ahead: I checked with our dealer's service writer yesterday about setting up a LOF service before 3-year time out. Asked him if there were any, "surprise," required services coming up. He said nothing until 30,000 miles where we need to have both differentials...
