Do you know if this is a smart or dumb oil life monitor? The "dumb" monitors just count time and miles. The "smart"monitors, (like GM uses), are computer algorithms that capture many additional variables to calculate oil life. (like cycles, ambient temp, etc, etc)
Mine did the same thing but at around 1000 miles. I think the factory ships these vehicles with a certain time interval set and it went off even though nothing needed attention.
I went into the info settings and turned most of this stuff off. I don't need a car nagging me.
Thanks.
It looks like reading and writing an image of the SD card makes a valid copy. Simply copying and pasting the actual files doesn't work. I'm sure there's probably a hidden file with the VIN attached to the card that copy and paste doesn't find.
How do I make a backup SD NAV card in the event my original card get's lost or dies.
The Mazda Toolbox allows you to backup the SD card contents to a file but the file can only be restored to the original SD card. That won't do any good if the original card dies. I'd like to make a spare card...
Thanks, I appreciate the explanation. I'll just leave leave it the way it is since their aren't any high ROI type of perf. mods. I'm happy with the overall performance.
Almost every vehicle I've owned has had some basic performance mods that offer really good bang for the buck. It's typically Tune, Intake and Exhaust related.
I don't see much discussed for the CX-5/2.5.
Are there compelling performance mods that register in the "butt dyno" but are easy on...
2013 Jeep Wrangler 2 door Sport.
- Poor daily driver ride/handling
- Poor MPG
- Absolutely no room in the back
- Not really that stable/predictable in ice and snow
Jeep's thrive offroad which really isn't my desire. The CX-5 does everything better since I don't care about offroading.
However...

Yes, I'm sure it varies. I think the fact that the vehicle is so new the title was never created by the DMV yet. Otherwise I think Chase would have sent me a signed title vs a lien release.
I also financed a small portion to get the extra $500 rebate. I paid it off a couple days ago and Chase just sent me the lien release.
I called the DMV and to get the title in my name I have to:
1. Complete a form for a replacement title
2. Complete another form to apply for a title without...
Thanks,
I guess I'm just trying to broaden my search to other Mazda Models that have wheels that would fit a CX-5 and thought I'd start with ones that are an exact match. (In order to eliminate any guessing as to whether they clear calipers, have the right offset, etc.)
Would it be pretty safe...
Does anyone have an opinion on the optimal wheel size for dedicated winter tires? I read that 19" winter tires are very expensive. Is 17" the sweet spot? Given a choice would it be better to go 18", or drop down to 16" or just stick with 17"?
Thanks!!
No, I'm talking about the same exact wheel specs vs. whether or no they'll mount. I've searched thru the Maxda specs and haven't found any other model that uses 17X7 unless I'm missing one.
The theory is that fuel is used to cool the in tank fuel pump. As the tank get's real close to empty there's simply not enough fuel to cool the pump at peak efficiency. That's why the rule of thumb is to refuel at around 1/4 tank.
Lots of rain, frost and ice. Occasional snow but I don't want to maximize snow performance if I have to sacrifice wet road performance. I have no intention of venturing out in really bad conditions with the CX-5 but here in the PNW the weather throws a lot of curve balls at us.
I live about...
