I sat in a GTR and then a Sig and it was a no brainer. The Sigs leather fealt so much nicer so went with the Sig. The GTR leather seemed more stiff and like cheap OEM leather. The Sigs 360 degree camera is nice. If you don't care about those two factor then get the GTR since it's cheaper. The...
Higher octane fuel is only beneficial >4000 RPM per Mazda. I rarely exceed 4000 RPM so I see it as a waste of $'s.
The turbo is great. I can quickly pass anyone even going uphill. MPG is 24.9 averaged over about 5K miles of average driving.
I usually fill up at about the 1/4 mark and get 24.5 MPG in my Sig. That's a miserable range of only 275 miles or so.
My biggest gripe is the tiny fuel tank. It should be 18 vs 15.
By contrast, I can get close to 700 miles range in my F150.
It's B.S. However I always start the engine after an oil change and let it gently idle for a few moments while making sure nothing is leaking. That's enough time to fill the filter.
I would not change the oil and then immediately redline the engine. Nor would I immediately change the oil on a...
The noise on mine has almost completely gone away even when cold. (I'm at about 3000 miles right now). I'm concluding a major factor is normal engine break in. I think a CX-9 owner reported the same thing.
Disagree. It's being transmitted/resonating into the cabin but it's not being generated inside the cabin. At least on mine.
All I heard was his turn signal. He said "idle and low RPM". Mine is noticable at 2000-2500 RPM, high load and cold. (very faint at idle and almost nothing between idle...
OK, I opened the hood and found what I'm sure is the Injector Pump. The overall engine noise at idle masks the sound from the pump but when I place a long screwdriver on the pump housing and listen, (ie poor man's stethoscope), it makes a very noticeable ticking sound at idle. I'm 99% sure...
It could be it. It makes some sense since the direct fuel injection pump (not fuel pump) obviously varies it's output based on RPM and load and operating temperature.
Anyone know if 2.5T's have a unique fuel injection pump from 2.5NA's?
I'm also curious why CX-9 users haven't mention this...
That thought had crossed my mind but I don't think it's the source. (why just the 2.5T?)
The sound is similar to radio noise in older cars when they picked up interference from the breaker point ignition system and that noise varied by RPM.
On mine, it's extremely faint at idle but still there. However I don't hear it when I open the hood and listen because the normal engine sounds drown out the faint buzzing.
It sounds like it's the same sound as discussed in the other thread.
- Loudest when engine is under load and starts around 2000 RPM. I don't hear it when the vehicle is parked and run up to 2000 RPM.
- Extremely faint at idle
- Sound varies proportional to RPM in that 2000-2500 band
- Much more...
Mine has the same exact issue as the OP described. However it's a function of engine temp because it goes away once the engine reaches normal operating temp. It's a faint buzzing vs a rattle.
I can't really trace the sound under the hood when parked. It seems to be a function of cold engine...
Doc Fee needs to be added back into "Vehicle Price" to determine the dealer discount since it's essentially dealer profit. The only fees that don't enter into the equation are government mandated fees.
Still a good deal!!
