For reference I'm thinking 4K on the engine. It's built better and to more detail than anything you can buy out there and most of the short blocks I see run above 3500. And this is a long block with full P&P and valve work etc. The last protege long block I built MY cost with my accounts on it...
You would think! It's cheap enough. I'm basically lubing up with vaseline to take in the arse on this one, but I literally have put 350 miles on it this year, and really can't justify keeping it in the stable anymore. I figure I can probably sell the car reverted back to stock for about 6500...
Final price update people... I can't go any lower than this. If it doesn't sell at this price by mid september I will begin disassembling and selling off the parts of the car.
thanks!!
Steve
I have been considering trades, but not for modded cars as clearly evidenced by the difficulty in selling this one they don't sell all that well and I am trying to reduce the number of cars I have in the end here. A boosted ST would be a riot to drive though I'm sure :)
I'll be bringing some brake pads I need to get rid of, maybe some filled engine mounts (that I'll seel with no core!), and a bunch of stickers too... I may even bring some tools etc so we can do installs and touch up work for people if need be and we are there long enough.
So does the street...
Which mitsubishi though? i had a Lancer (non-evo) for a while.. but yes, every specific car has it's own crowd.. and honestly even each region for each car has it's own crowd. The earlier days the Chicago Protege's were a little crazy.. but are now more mellow.. the Wisconsin group though has...
we have a kilt in madison too... great place :) the park shouldn't be an issue for getting kicked out. It's actually when we try to take pictures that we usually have the most problems. As long as everyone drives mature and there isn't engine revving there usually is no issue at all. Some...
Usually are a few girlfriends if not other car enthusiasts in the pure form. don't worry about people knowing everyone. We only half remember each other becaues we only do the meets about once a year if that!
Okay... lets go for Delafield. The final question I need to get figured out is if we can grill out at Fish Hatchery park or not. Any of the Waukesha guys willing to run out there and check? you exit on Highway 83 and turn left (northwest) immediately under the interstate and follow Milwaukee...
I won't sell/change anything unless the engine sells. I have 3 offers on the car right now that I'm sorting through as well, so nothing really going anywhere anytime soon yet.
well, Ridge Run park looked nice and all, but it's going to be hard to for some people to find which always becomes a pain. I think Delafield will be shortest/best. I need to check two more things and then I'll post which one to go with tomorrow. That sound good?
Thanks!
Steve
Not sure yet... was figuring like 350 for the welded LSD and 4.5K for the engine. It's a rather heavily done long block, so I figured slightly less than a new short block is a decent deal.
You could fly denver to Madison or denver to Milwaukee. Milwaukee would probably be cheaper and I could easily meet you out there.. but it is 2 hours more for the drive back. I've done the drive from wisconsin to Denver before, was actually fun although most of the roads were boring.
Yeah, I'd take 12,500 for it. I have another guy here who is looking at trying to get a loan so he can buy it so is working on that. But either way whatever works out more or less first I guess.
Thanks!
Steve
I'll check out Ridge Run this weekend to see if it is a good place to go or not. The only knock we had on Delafield was that we had a hard time finding a place for the cars to be parked and take pictures, we got run off repeatedly last time which was sad as we were a well behaved and quiet group.
Technically yes... you are supposed to be able to do it by holding the input shaft fixed. But that requires a special tool. It's dangerous to do wth the engine etc I guess.
No, not at all. It's just the hand controller to work with the Microtech ECU and it's nowhere near as good as the laptop software etc which is cheaper.
