The setting on the alignments don't migrate they stay the same from alignment to alignment. The independent shop initially set the alignment at 04 positive toe. Then .18, then .26 then then I put this steering wandering issue on the back burner to address a creek. I have a whole thread on that...
Yea, the dealer did a good alignment. (I have had several in the last 10,000 miles). A few by an independent shop and a few by the dealer. So the front total toe settings have ranged: positive .04 thru .45 and everything in between. This last one along with switching to Defender2 235-65-18s...
Orig owner. Picked it up with 2 miles. At about 6000 I noticed it was getting challenging to keep it in the center of my lane. Always having to correct the direction to bring it back to center. I've varied the tire pressures. I've inspected the wheel bearings. I've inspected the tie rods. I...
Are they going to replace it under warranty? That $4400 for that part seems high. I googled the part number and I thought it was around $1300, which is still high. Plus your invoice shows a superceded part. The part number I show as the most recent ends in a D
Yea, first thing I would do is decide if it needs a long block due to coolant in the oil. If its only a head replacement I hear its still easier to do it by dropping the engine out on the subframe first. Dont know why thats just what I have read. Book time on a head is 17hr and an engine...
I figured I should update my post. Creak fixed. The dealer said the sub frame was hitting on the body so they loosened all the subframe bolts, greased the alingment pins and recentered the subframe. Been to months and ni creak! :)
My sport mode works great in all gears but it won't make the 3-4 shift till 42mph so if I am stuck behind someone doing 40 I have to go back to D to get it to shift. Otherwise this tranny/engine combo is flawless.
I ruled out the sway bar, sway bar bushings, and end links by removing both end links and securing the sway bar with about 8 zip ties out of the way. Then drove mine and noise still present. I also completely removed the cowl plate up top and same thing, drove and made the noise. I wish I...
Yup. I live in both Minnesota and Alaska. When it's 20-25f let the car idle for up to 5 mins, then like you said drive it ez for a while to put some heat into trans, xfer case, diff, cv joints, u-joints,and even wheel bearings before you give it the beans. When I am at temps below zero F...

Mine was the subframe. I will post the repair order later also. Been 2 months, I think it's fixed this time. Pretty happy!!!
Glee217, that's great they did that much work to get it fixed for you. Nice to have a dealer that's competent huh?

Mine ended up being my subframe was hitting the body. They loosened all the subframe bolts and greased the alignment pins, repositioned the subframe and tightened it all back up, then did an alignment because it changes things. 2 months and...
I dont think the NA CD head, (18 and later) has a TSB? If it doesn't its because one of two reasons. Hasn't happened enough or there is no fix. Or both?
WTF?? The way the NC incident reads the ball joint didnt break. It pulled thru the LCA and remained in the knuckle?? Thats absolutely nutz. I pictured the ball joint shearing in half. Jesus.
I did the same on my CX9 when I put on the receiver. No way could you transfer any force to that area even if you dropped the muff all the way. There is a flex pipe upstream of the cat and presilancer. ( resonator)
