i also blew a transfer case. i'm not sure what happened because i never abuse the car. I was driving home one night and it started knocking under the car and i did lift the handbrake to the 1st notch to see if it helped and most of the noise went away but it still sounded pretty bad.
i had the...
how does bad toe affect treadwear? i mean, what can i expect my tires to look like after driving with bad toe adjustment for too long?
my last set of tires ended up completely bald, i mean skin smooth, on the inside while the outside of the tire still looked pretty good. i actually didn't know...
I think i have the same problem.
the feeling i get is (i'm trying to make this as clear as possible)...as if the wheels in the back could turn, making the rear end go left a bit, sending the car to the right. Like driving a fork lift, you turn the steering to the right, which makes the rear...
i buy my tires from Tirerack or other online sellers...i paid 95$ on special / tire for Ecsta LX Platinum 4 seasons for my MS6, 225/40r18. (i wanted big treadwear spec primarily)
You can have your stuff shipped here: http://freeportforwarding.com/ and then go pick it up. you pay taxes when you...
well the cops don't always know what they're talking about obviously.
I sold my RX7 to my brother and he got pulled over for "burning oil". The cop sent him to inspection because his engine is "broken" because he smelled oil following him. It's an 86, maybe it's burning a bit more oil than it...
Did you already find a tslon tsi awd to buy?
I have one sitting in my garage and havent touched it in over a year... i have no budget to keep working on my project
was it on stock wheels too? I can't really tell from your avatar
what brand/model of tires were you using? I know some brands are wider than other for the same size. maybe you had some that were wider, or Koenig for some that were actually narrower than the size said
sorry but that's why i asked for people who actually tried it.
I just got a reply back from Koenig and he's been on 235/40-18 for 2 years now on stock wheels and is even dropped on megan springs.
Thanks for replying though, at least you took the time to write something =)
that sounds weird. i mean oil dripping after a loud POP is usually not good. Hopefully it's something minor and not a blown engine. You probably won't read this until you come back but i was wondering how much oil did it actually drop on the ground after the pop?
good luck man!
well....when you hear a loud POP, the engine shuts off and you see oil dripping...i'm gona have to go with what Forzda said.
hopefully Mazda will be nice and not make you wait long for nothing
Hey guys,
I saw this size mentioned a few times while i was searching. A few said that it fits on stock wheels. Koenig is the one i saw saying that it worked but i sent him a PM for an update now that it's been a couple months and haven't heard back from him
Anybody else tried this size on...
On my mazdaspeed protege, i had a custom front mount intercooler and all piping done and had a turbosmart dualport bov recirculating in the intake. I got tired of the turkey sound it made and decided to block the recirculation port on the bov and i took a metal saw, cut all my intake and...
I'd say that you start hurting the engine when you start messing with the amount of air/fuel that enters the engine.
By that i mostly mean changing the turbo's boost pressure. If you stay at stock boost, and only "unlock" power by adding exhaust and intake, i really don't see you running into...
that's what i thought, just wanted to make sure thanks guys.
I don't get why they say a 225/40 requires 7.5 when 225/45 only needs 7
This is what i'm probably going to get: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Exclaim+UHP
The 225/40 is the cheapest by 15 to 20$...
hey guys, i'm also looking at getting new tires.
I see you mention 225/40 is ok for stock wheels, but the specs of the tires i'm looking at buying say that 225/40/18 fits on 7.5 to 9" wheel. The 225/45/18 fit on 7-8.5
I'm thinking of ordering a set of 225/40r18 anyway. i assume that if 225/45...
