All three of our current Subaru’s (2x BRZ, 1x WRX) require it at 100,000 KM. Plus the diffs also, and there’s three of those in a WRX! Seems prudent to me.
Without knowing any other details, when ever somebody mentions rear end clunking, the immediate “go-to” is the shock mounts.
Notorious for breaking, via snapping at the lug ears which bolt to the car. It is a LOUD and obvious clunk, not typically very subtle.
Super easy to check without...
Do you happen to know the size of the drain & fill plug crush washers, or the torque specs? I've posted my own question, but so far nobody has an answer for me Thanks.
Hey there. Do you happen to know the size of the crush washers for the drain and fill lugs? Or the torque specs? I posted my own question but so far nobody knows...thanks.
In Japan spec (so slimmer Asian clientele vs shall we say, robust North Americans) it was a 7-seater. Had a third seat jammed in the middle of the second row.
You may not want to hear this, but….Just to the North, in Canada, I’ve got a “fully loaded” GT w/sunroof etc. in 6-speed manual. 👌🏼
Mine has cloth seats, but leather was available.
I also feel the clutch effort is kinda high in this car. I used to daily it, and thought nothing of it. Then stopped driving it for 3 years while other family members had it. Just started driving it again, and compared to my ‘21 Subaru WRX it feels significantly different, and harder. But clutch...
The car is 13 years old and has 230,000 k’s on it. It’s in excellent condition and I plan on keeping it a long time. For the sake of a 15 min. fluid change, and C$75, it makes sense to change it. Esp. when you consider the iffy 2nd gear synchro issues prevalent in these transmissions.
I can't be the only one needing to know this...but my search here came up empty.
So, two quick questions, as suggested in the title, for 2012 M5 w/6-speed manual:
1) Crush washer size for drain plug?
2) Crush washer size for fill plug?
And while we're at it, torque spec confirmation, for both...
Did you fix yours yet? I just posted about an aftermarket cable:
https://mazdas247.com/forum/t/right-side-handbrake-cable-replacement-e-brake-parking-brake-dorman-c660769.123878623/
Just some info. for anyone with broken/seized handbrake cable issue....(2012 Mazda5 GT, Canada, 6 speed MT)
TLDR: Dorman C660769 fits/works perfectly for RHS.
Mine was sticking, so replaced the caliper (overdue anyway) and the right side brake cable. I wanted a cheaper option than the entire...
Yeah, I’ve found a place in the UK that sells return springs individually. Although they say the one they have doesn’t fit the 2.5L North American vehicle, only the diesels and 2.0L. However, it looks very similar and for C$8 I might give it a shot. My Mum lives in the UK so shipping is not a...
Springs stretch and when the handbrake is applied the spring is under tension, this stretching it. A reasonable correlation that the more the car is driven the more the handbrake is applied, the more it’s stretched. Although I suppose you could also say the less it’s driven, the more the...
Looks great. I want to do this to my Stormtrooper CX-5. Did you wrap this with the switches in place on the wheel, or did you remove the cruise/audio controls and wrap them off the wheel?
I think that may have been a reason, "back in the day" but I think that issue has been solved, otherwise it wouldn't be an option at all. Seems odd the dealer can do it, but not an owner. Because even if they warned you about the rear window cracking and confirming you really really wanted to do...
Hey there. I do indeed have a CX-5, but I also have a Mazda 5. I will adjust my profile info. to make that more clear, so thank you for pointing that out.
This is about my 2012 Mazda 5 GT (6MT)
It's very easy to access and get a look at what is happening by just pulling off the wheel. Icould...
2012 Mazda 5 GT: Had an ongoing issue with the parking brake not releasing properly. Pulled the wheel today and notice significant crud and debris caked around the cable pivot. Cleaned it all off and the pivot seems relatively free to move, so problem somewhat solved. However, the car has...
