Now that you mention it, I think I replaced the engine mounts on our last 5. I need to get some suspenison parts too, but not sure what's out there now. Been a while. I know bilstien makes struts and shocks, So I may go that route as a base and then load with springs and OE mounting parts.
What have I done to our 5 this week? almost destroyed it. We had a snowstorm last saturday, so we went for a little drive on sunday morning and someone was plowing their driveway. It looked like all soft snow across the road, but it was solid ICE. We hit one of the chunks.....the result...
Hmmmmmm, They should work then. it's not like your trying some cheap connector etc. Might be time to take it to the stealership and see if there is an issue with the OBD2 port.
It was from the late 60s it was an actual bar mounted on the dash with tanks in the trunk. A catholic father bought the car new and installed the bar. needless to say he was cut all the time driving. From my research his favorite was rum and coke in the car. The stains in the pipes confirms this.
Had the 5 out last night to bring my son to bowling. The lights are awesome. SO good. Beam pattern is perfect on low beam, no stray light, just great cutoff. High beam is tight and concentrated down the road and the two ditches no light shooting high just light where it needs to be and boy are...
I bought a 1968 Ford Galaxie XL that was in the dealership show room from 1971 when it was traded in until 1995 when they went into receivership and I got the car at auction. It had the original tires on it. Bias ply red stripes. Drove the car a few days and thought it was falling apart. ha...
I had a 2001 subaru Legacy GT that I had a twin turbo system installed on. Went out one morning and it would not fire. I am like oh great, something major is done now. Turns out, a rat ate my spark plug wires. I installed a set of nice blue NGK 9.5mm wires and away we went again.
I compared our 5's lights to my son's new crosstrek with those fancy movable LED projectors. Our low beams are on par if not a little better, for high beam no contest ours out performs the soob.
Yes. Anything sealight is worth using. I have used them in my Jeep JK unlimited, F150 and Jeep patriot. All have performed awesome, besides the patriot not being able to stop blinking them. Jeep problem not Sealight problem. I also had sealights in my 2011 JK unlimited with Hella Vision Plus...
Got the new set in. Waaaayyyyyy better than the ones from CDN tire and miles ahead of the stock halogen garbage. High beams are SUPER BRIGHT. Great set of lights for the money.
Next up is roof rack and some wheels for spring. Oh, and the complete bayson R body kit with spoiler.
Have a look at bayson R, I ordered their complete kit without spoiler for our 2007 5, and we are ordering the entire kit with spoiler for our 2017 5. They have great products.
Yes, we were impressed with our previous 5 as well. We had Toyo Ice radials on that one and they were the best snow tires we have ever owned on any vehicle. This time however we could not wait to get them in so we bought cheaper tires and will order Toyos next year.
Put new ice radials on for the winter. First winter in a long time for us with a 5. It's very different coming from the Jeep patriot where we can just blow through the snow and drifts. ha ha.
We will have the F150 though.
