Bingo! I thought my 23 Turbo didn’t do it for that reason. A little tap of the gas wasn’t enough, you have to push that pedal while expecting the parking brake to release.
You know what’s funny? The OEM Denso filters for Toyota come prelubed too, but they still have an instruction on the box to apply oil. Makes me scratch my head every time.
Don’t forget to double check that the adapter left the rail when lowering the jack. Pretty sure I lost mine on a drive after a tire rotation that way, lol! I’d actually prefer they weren’t magnetic for that reason but that’s just me.
Darn, zero Mobil1 available in store near me. Going to give Pennzoil a shot again. $20 or $30 back on 10 quarts depending on what flavor you get. The Ultra Platinum is never available near me so I’ll probably settle for Platinum again...
Mobil1 is a good deal if you don’t mind chasing rebates. They haven’t denied me yet. Pennzoil also offers rebates occasionally, but they tried to screw me once. Do with that what you will.
Kirkland at Costco is fine if you have a membership. Not sure if there is any difference in it vs...
I gave Gemini a shot (for better or worse). I dont think 1 Intake deposits is credible based on how much inspection you have performed so far. Check out 2, wire harness integrity is interesting. Not sure if 3 is relevant to line 4s the way it discusses a bank, suggestion over my head tbh. I like...
I noticed that too from others oil analysis. I used Edge once or twice, and have since switched to Edge Extended. A couple of its certifications are more stringent and hopefully the viscosity is more robust over a 5k oil change interval.
I never minded the lack of power in my old 2.0 L ‘13. It had a horrible 0-60 time of course, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker by any means. I have a turbo second gen and it’s a bit of a bummer it was dropped for the third gen, but the third gen powertrain isn’t a slouch like some reviews make it out...
Alright, I take it back. My ‘23 totally does this. I had to try on two separate occasions today. Press the gas like you expect the brake to disengage and it will 😂 learned something new
Hopefully OP comes back.
Do you still have access to this debris? I would want to try a few things.
Test with a magnet. That will be useful to determine if it’s ferrous or not.
Can the debris be crushed with something like pliers? Maybe be hard and shiny but if it crushes to a powder, that’s...
If you turn the parking brake on first before shifting to P (or putting a manual in 1) you ensure the weight of the vehicle is being held by the brakes and not the drivetrain/parking pawl. N7 nailed it.
You’ll achieve the same end result as long as your foot was on the brake pedal the whole time.
For the brake hold function, or simply releasing the parking brake without using the function? I definitely need to actuate the parking brake button to disengage it on my ‘23 without the brake hold function activated.
First time I read it above I took that as hitting the gas can disable the...
Do you happen to run the trip B odometer for things like oil change intervals? Only time I’ve ever seen a mpg difference for sure was over 5k mile intervals. I see summer vs winter formulation gas (I think) causing a 1 mpg difference. I also can get 1 mpg better if I take routinely take the...
