I only have 50,000 miles on my Mazda and financially I need to keep this car for a while so I don't want to go super cheap on the tires. The Falkens are around $119/tire not on sale, the Continentals though are $140 not on sale.
I currently have Continentals, they ride better than the Michelins and Pirelli's I had before and don't tramline on the freeway like the others.
I have been waiting for a Coupon on Continentals, also considering Falken.
While waiting for a sale I decided to go to Discount Tire and get a free rotation to see what they say.
They told me everything was fine with the tires.
Can't cover the tires but it took over 6 years for the issue to show up which isn't bad.
I check my tires pressure often, keep it on the 36 recommended and I've never seen it go above that, they lose about 2 lbs over a few months
I've been doing that as well. Even then it depends on the car as well. A 2013 Mazda 3 isn't going to have a smooth ride no matter what tire I put on, but I still like to read reviews
I just got back from Discount Tire, the guy said there is still some tread life left and that they recommend changing tires after 6 years but that they don't look that bad and I have time.
I bought them 6 1/2 years ago so I am going to wait for a sale and research which tires would be best. I...
This was a general service shop that I always go to.
What I could do is go to Discount Tire for a free tire rotation and see if they say anything, but I do trust my shop and they don't sell tires so they really have no reason to tell me they are cracking.
I checked them this morning.
Yeah, the car always had a rough ride so I'm not looking to spend any money if I don't have to. Frankly I think the tires may do more than new struts.
I like my Continentals because they don't get caught in freeway grooves like some other tires I've tried, and I was wrong about the availability Discount Tire does have these Continentals so I may just go with them.
I don't see any cracks myself but I assume if they said they wouldn't rotate...
Funny, I looked at the tires and see no cracking but it could be on the other side of the tire.
The tire pressure is always at 36, but they overfilled it to 40 so I took some air out.
Tires will only do so much for ride comfort when the car had a rough ride to begin with and the struts and...
