The 2.5L used in the CX90 hybrid is unrelated to the 2.5 used in the CX5 for over a decade?

I was thinking it made no sense the hybrid CX5 wasn't ready at launch as they already have a 2.5L hybrid for the CX60/70/90 with 323hp and 369 ft/lbs and an 8sp automatic. Of course, this is a RWD platform, but surely Mazda can adapt it to work with FWD.

I guess time will tell. I read good and bad experiences with Kia and Mazda all the time so it isn't isolated to Kia. I am at 3500 miles and going in for my first oil change today (along with a software recall update for the emission system). I don't plan on adding any aftermarket stuff...

The CX-9 isn't in production anymore, is it? They have three different engines in the CX-50 so it isn't unusual. I personally think they should have either waited to release the new CX-5 until the hybrid was ready or continue the turbo until the hybrid was released.

Interesting. Maybe on lower end models, but the Telluride has very solid doors. Easily equal if not better than the '21 I CX-5 I had.

Toyota was involved in the 1st gen CX-9? I thought it was a Ford/Mazda only. In a quick look online (wikipedia), I see nothing mentioning Toyota involvement.

I don't think the same would be said for Kia/Hyundai.... Lots of niceties for the money.

Others I might suggest, if you like hybrids, are the Kia/Hyundai twins Sportage/Tuscon in the hybrid trims. They come close to the power of the CX-5 2.5T and provide better economy at the same time.

An unwise move IMHO. Sure, offer an electric variant if you like, but at least offer a hybrid (which is what Toyota does best).

Huge mistake if that is how it is (having to go into the touchscreen to disable every time you drive).

It's pretty lame there are no upgraded versions available at launch. I think they should have waited to release until a new powertrain was available. An extra 150 lbs with no increase in power? Nope....

Looks like they are using the base CX-70/90's front rotors. Just like they did with the CX-9's front rotors for the Turbo model from 19-25. Makes sense as they don't have anything else using the old 12.6" rotors so why not upgrade to 12.9" and use something from the current parts bin.

I should hope so. The turbo got the CX-9 front brakes. Maybe they will go with CX-70/90 brakes for the hybrid....

You will still need to PM Candurin.

That isn't what we do in this thread. This is for the latest firmware. It isn't to ask for workarounds to enable the touchscreen as that would be a custom job.
