A rear hatch that automatically fully raises so I don't hit my head on it if I neglect to manually push it up the rest of the way. What a pain in the ........ head!
Center console trim around gearshift area that doesn't get all the micro scratches and look old long before its time.

The LKA should be called Lane Departure Notification. Personally I prefer the system as it is, I can and want to drive but it is nice to have a notification should I stray out of my lane for some reason. I only turn it on when driving on fairly lightly travelled highway.
I have a 6" strip of 'limo' (very dark) tint along the top of my windshield that comes down to about the bottom of the visors when they are lowered. It takes a little getting used to at first but helps the heat noticeably during the hot summer months when the sun is very high in the sky. Of...

It maintains a rich looking matte finish (no greasy, shiny looking stuff for me!). It works on ALL plastics and coated leather surfaces including the clear dashboard lenses, etc. Good stuff!
I'm also near the 1 year mark and will be at 20,000 by that point (October).
I agree with everything you say. The biggest weaknesses are the infotainment system and cameras. Paint is not top quality which is why I put a clear bra on the front - and bought white (for car wash swirls but also...
1. The HUD adaptive driving display can be turned off, right?
I don't know because I would never consider turning it off. It's one of the things I like best about the vehicle and will need on my next one.
2. What's the prognosis on the tight cabin and seats on long trips? Anyone drive for a...
On a related note, when I bought my 2019 and talked to the insurance company (State Farm) I learned that it was less expensive to drop my comprehensive deductible to zero than to add glass breakage coverage. If I need a windshield replacement or have any other comprehensive claim it will be no...
My seats were never uncomfortable for me or my wife but have broken in and become more comfortable over time. We just returned from a 1 month, 7,000 mile road trip and both of us commented along the way about how comfortable the seats were. The car now has about 18,000 miles on it.
I took my CX-9 to the dealer yesterday for an oil change and tire rotation. I also asked that they update the system and provided them with the .335 version number. When they returned the car they said that everything had been done on the work order including the system update. Before I drove...
A previous car of mine had HUD and my last one had tint that was sensitive to polarized lenses. I also notice the CX-9 HUD being much dimmer with polarized sunglasses and much prefer the brightness when using non-polarized glasses, especially since I live in the very bright desert.

Very odd styling cues. To me it looks like one person designed the upper portion and someone else the lower portion. I don't understand the direction that Toyota is going with their SUVs. At one point they seemed to be following Lexus but with a more conservative bent (especially with the...
