Lightweight AGM or Lithium battery in Cold Weather daily driver?

I would go AGM, especially since daily driver and cold weather. The AGM will last and last. My last AGM battery lasted almost 10 years before needing to be replaced. Those lithium batteries might be light weight, but they are only good when you are looking for every last bit of weight for...

Moto-Man Mazda MX-30 review with Dave Coleman

Excellent! I love listening to Dave Coleman. I was hooked on his style when he was with Sport Compact Car, and have always enjoyed his take on handling and dynamics, and his knack for explaining how things work. I'm glad he is part of the Mazda NA family, even though I don't know him personally 😁

    2023 CX-7

I don't see Mazda slotting another car between the CX-5 and the CX-9. CX-5 is 2-row seating, CX-9 is 3-row seating. They already killed off the CX-3 for not selling enough. And, there is too much overlap between the CX-5 and the CX-30. They should just add a hybrid powertrain option to the...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

No. The advantage to the Miata wheels is the weight. Miata wheels are much lighter weight. Mazda5 17" wheels are ~22lbs, CX5 wheels are about the same. Miata 17 wheels are ~17lbs. Lighter wheels will help with acceleration, braking, and handling.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

So I did some digging, and it looks like you have a Sport model with the OEM 16 inch wheels, and you don't drive all that much. The 17's will be an upgrade to the OEM 16 inch wheels. The 17's will give more road feel, and improve the handling from the stock suspension. They won't give a...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

I would keep the same tire size as spec'd for the Mazda5, the 205/50-16 is a little small for the Mazda5. I would skip the 16" wheels and go right for a set of 17" Miata wheels. Paired with a set of 215/50-17 tires will transform the way the car feels.

How much do Mazdaspeed Protege Wheels usually go for?

In my experience, a used set of rims will really only get about $100 each. And depending on the age of the tires, maybe an extra $100 total. When I say "age," that does not necessarily mean "wear." "Age" means when were they produced. MSP Racing Harts might have brought more back in the day...

2008 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring getting BCM Replaced Question

They just need to reprogram the new BCM to recognize the transmitters that you have. If you only have one, that's all they get. My guess is that the procedure involves programming the BCM to the car, then programming the transmitters to the BCM so they can be used to start the car.

    Mazdas247 Update: We’re 20! 🥳

I always regretted not driving a Protege before buying our 99 Civic LX. When I had the need for a new car, I immediately took the ride to the nearest Mazda dealer for a test drive. Drove a Protege5, and was hooked. I was hoping to swing for the MP3 in Laser Blue, but the price was just a tad...

    Mazdas247 Update: We’re 20! 🥳

I still have a special place in my heart for those 3rd generation Protege's! If they weren't all rust buckets now, and still had aftermarket support, I might be tempted to pick one up as a project or to keep around for the son's first car. The wife is on her 3rd Mazda, and prefers to drive a...

Can 20" rims fit the Protege5 with low profile tires?

For sure, 20's are a BIG wheel for a Protege. I wouldn't go bigger than 18. My first choice would be to stick with a light weight 16" wheel. My second choice would be a 3rd generation Miata 17" wheel. The Protege is VERY sensitive to wheel weight, and a light weight 16 with a 205/50-16 tire...
