Anyone concerned about the upcoming recall on the 2018 CX5??

Welcome to the auto business! We have a 2010 RAV4 from the famously *reliable* and *dependable* Toyota brand. The rear suspension arms were recalled for rusting and sending cars wildly out of control. Their fix was to epoxy the joints in a manner that prevents any future alignment adjustments...

Anyone concerned about the upcoming recall on the 2018 CX5??

Lol, BFD! If liftgate struts are near the top of the list of a certain car*s problems, that*s a good thing. I*d take that every time over electrical gremlins, water leaks, or transmission problems that often plague new cars. A pair of trunk struts is like $60, which isn*t much more than a new...

Anyone concerned about the upcoming recall on the 2018 CX5??

Agreed. No reason to care about such a straightforward recall.

    GT-R vs. BMW x3 comparison

Haha. I have no reason to own two similar crossovers. If I were gonna spend the money on a second car, it would be an impractical sports car for pure fun.

    GT-R vs. BMW x3 comparison

I made the mistake of buying into BMW and now I regret not noticing the CX-5 first. I plan to switch as soon as I find a great deal on a CPO. BMW is a nice car, but not worth the cost of ownership. Plus a lot of annoying douche things, like an annual fee for ACP and premium fuel requirement.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

Lol get outta here. The CX-9 is a pebble short of 200 long! Theres nothing sporty about a car that long. The class Im talking about are 12-15 shorter. Huge difference.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

Ive said it many times before, but Im almost certain the Alabama crossover will aim for that space. Itll be a giant leap toward premium.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

You*re too focused on space. Like I said above, mid-size 2-row crossovers attract buyers who want a sportier looking crossover. They*re not cross-shopping with 3 row family haulers, so all this chatter about the CX-9 is missing the point. Besides, the CX-9 is not exactly a sales darling that...

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

I don*t know if you*re being facetious or not, but my interest in a mid-size 2-row has nothing to do with people size. I just like a slightly wider stance and slightly wider tires because it looks sportier.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

A lot of other companies have found a way and a strong market for a larger 2-row... Escape and Edge CRV and Passport Rogue and Murano

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

I agree Mazda would be smart to introduce another slightly larger crossover and leave the 5 alone. However, I don*t think we*re talking a substantially larger vehicle. A couple inches of width would match the Q5 exactly and give the car a much sportier stance.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

Agree with OP. I think they need something at the bigger end of the 2-row class, like the Edge (or old CX-7). Let*s face it, the CX-5 is at the *cute* end of the crossover spectrum. I*d like something a little less dainty. That*s my prediction for the Alabama crossover. CX-9 is way too...

Can you use traffic sign recognition without HUD?

Not that much, just a few degrees up and down to accommodate seating heights.

Can you use traffic sign recognition without HUD?

Thanks for the replies! I have HUD on my BMW and turned it off because I found that my eyes focused on it instead of the road. I kinda wish it displayed somewhere else on the windshield. Really don*t need my speed *in my face* like that.

Can you use traffic sign recognition without HUD?

Im not a fan of HUDs. On the 2017-2018 CX-5s, do the signs show up on the dash instrumentation? I tried cycling thru the menu on a test drive but didnt see it.

    Extended warranty cost?

Prices vary wildly by company. That seems extreme for a Nissan. A quick search of CX5 headlights showed much cheaper. Regardless, headlights are a fun salvage/DIY job. :) I*m more concerned about things that go wrong that prevent me from driving the car.

    Extended warranty cost?

They way I see it, it*ll take roughly two of those failures to add up to the cost of the warranty, so I*m ok paying that cost once it*s going toward an actual repair vice a piece of paper. Plus, given the poor state of customer support these days, I don*t have any confidence that getting...

    Extended warranty cost?

A dealer recently quoted me $599 for the extended confidence warranty (Powertrain only to 100k) when I asked them why one of their used 2017*s wasn*t a CPO, but said we could negotiate it with the car. I don*t think I*d ever bother with any other warranty. Engine and tranny failure are the...

    Hang Tag Question

Omg there*s no need to roast the OP over hang tags. They make small tags these days that fit entirely behind the rear view mirror and don*t obstruct anything. Colleges, companies, and apartment complexes use them all the time.

    CX-5 Exhaust tip pics?

There was a guy on Facebook last week who put up pics of his CX-5 with BMW X3 tips. Looked good imo!
