Mine is set to Auto as well. I've never once used high beams as I don't see a need in my use situation, the standard low-beams are bright enough for my needs.

The manual says the DRL's "turn on automatically when the vehicle starts moving" and "turn off when you put it in P or set the parking brake". I don't think a specified speed the car has to reach before it turns on is given.

I usually don't let it run that low, but the last couple of times I've done this, there was 10+L/2.5+ gallons left in the tank.
