    CX-9 2.5T drives better with 91 Octane

Does anybody know what the horsepower number would be using 91 octane? I don't come across anything higher than that in most of the western US. Also wonder how the mid-grade 89 octane would be.

    Heated seat not so hot

I checked them all when I bought my 2018 GT but I will now check the passenger again. I know the drivers seat works because it stays on when you turn off the car so when I get back in it reminds me I left it on quickly. Plenty warm on high for my tastes and it come-on fairly quick.

Any higher mileage 2nd Gen CX-9's out there?

This is good to hear. Just oil changes? How often if you don't mind me asking?

    A not-so-positive review of the 2019 CX-9 Signature

The good news is the CX-9 is getting compared at all with some of the luxury offerings ( MDX, RX350 etc) the bad news is it will fall a little short in direct comparison with interior finishes in those vehicles (but those are $10-20k more). That said when compared to the other brands non luxury...

Any higher mileage 2nd Gen CX-9's out there?

Search didn't bring anything up so thought I would ask. Now that this SkyActive Turbo 4 has been around for a few years has anybody racked up any big miles on it? Over 60-80k miles maybe? New owner and really like the car and hope this engine will last without many issues. People always take...

    A not-so-positive review of the 2019 CX-9 Signature

His negative review was primarily because he couldn't get comfortable in the drivers seat. He's a big guy and I could see the drivers seat feeling a little tight if I were not 5'8" 160 lbs. He says the seats are uncomfortable and I find the seats in my GT very comfortable. Yes they are on the...

Heat only getting really warm when car is moving (2016 CX-9)

New owner here and bummed to read this information. Is this not warming up stuff only noticeable on or below zero temps? I'm bought the car in Arizona where I have migrated for the winter so I have not had it in the cold back in Montana where maximum heat is needed. I have seen other complaints...

Rear bumper and tailgates chrome bars replacement

That seems like a very high estimate for what you described. Was this the dealers quote. I'd take it to at least two reputable independent body shops for an estimate. A scratch that has broken the paint is tough and maybe they are quoteing repainting the whole thing? Not sure but I know how you...

    Turbo: nobody home?

Savagegeese is way too hung up on the infotainment systems in these cars a it is really his main criticism of the CX-5 and all current Mazda's. He hates the HUD so much and that's one of the reasons I bought the CX-9. Major safety feature in my opinion. With the addition of Apple Car Play and...

    Tinting front window

I bought my 2018 GT AWD in Arizona where the dealers tint everything and add the up-charge whether you want it or not. So lame. They did my front two windows very close to all the rear glass and it looks great in addition to sun protection so I was fine with it. 33% is the darkest legal here in...

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Dealer installed the Carplay on my 2018 GT as part of the sale. It seems to work great so far. WAZE is very good to have and looks great on the screen. Glad its on the car as this seems to be paramount to have these days. Pretty soon no new cars will be able to charge for factory nav. Surprised...

(Almost) new 2019 CX-9 GT owner

Thanks for the info. I like discount tire and did not know they had that option. To their credit the Falkens are pretty quiet on this car so far (6000 miles) but I have a feeling there are other's that will improve an already smooth ,quiet ride.

    Daytime running lights dim/flickering

After having the DRL's fail completely on my 2016 CX-5 GT I think I am going to disable the DRL's on my new CX-9 if for no other reason than to preserve them as silly as that sounds. I know they look cool but I can't see them when I'm driving and we don't drive in that many traffic situations so...

(Almost) new 2019 CX-9 GT owner

The OEM Falkens do not get great reviews from what I read on the Tire Rack site from CX-9 owners. Some say they were shot at 25k miles and that they are lacking in wet weather. They are not included in any "best of" lists for SUV tires. The tread wear rating is a low 300 so I'll be happy if I...

Consumer Reports Headlights rating 2/5 for 2016+ CX-9

So are there 2 versions of the "adaptive" led headlights? It looks like the adaptive part in this video is different than the auto dimming feature we have in the USA. Or is it one in the same?

(Almost) new 2019 CX-9 GT owner

How do others feel the Falkens do in heavy rain? We had a rare deluge last night in Phoenix on the freeway I can't say the car felt as planted as expected and noticed some pretty severe hydroplaning ( 65 mph). I know that no tire is perfect in that much rain but are these supposed to be on par...

Car and Driver's 2019 10Best Trucks and SUVs

Very nice to see them both in there. Starting to see more CX-5's on the road. Not as many CX-9's. Still bizarre that after all these great reviews I don't see more than I do. I get the Toyota reliability/resale thing ( and I own one) but that last generation Rav-4 couldn't hold a candle to the...

Consumer Reports Headlights rating 2/5 for 2016+ CX-9

I just hope the daytime running lights are better in the CX-9 than the previous ten CX-5. Many of those quit early including mine. Both full headlight assemblies had to be replaced ( Under warranty thank God) and the ticket was $2200.00. Not cheap. So what is the big advantage to sealed LED...

Clear bra paint protection film for CX-9?

So the basic kit does about half the hood? I was going to leave the fenders and roof alone and maybe just to the top front edge of the hood ( few inches) the entire front end around and up to the fenders and mirrors. The A pillars on this car are almost sideways so not sure about doing those.

(Almost) new 2019 CX-9 GT owner

I won't miss a pano roof. They just don't get used that much by us. They also add weight and there have been cases of the exposing and shattering. I wouldn't ever use a 360 camera but the rear view camera should be better on this car with lines that move laterally. I'd rather have a right hand...
