    new personal best in mpg

421 mile trip and 36.3 mpg lots of up and down hill driving, didn't really go super easy on it either. Skyactive likes high altitude. Topped out at 8,900 feet. Back down at under 100 feet today but started the trip odo and the average mpg at fill-up before the trip so it has all the uphill...

Front part of the drivers seat leather

The front part of the bottom seat leather has come loose. It has plastic clips. Two about 4 inches long but I can't see what or how they hook. I know..... Take it to the dealer. I'd prefer to avoid the hassle of time off of work or spending my Saturday driving an hour to the one that is open

Jumping to next folder on USB

my worry is that if they weren't smart enough to put folder up, folder down buttons then were they smart enough to make it something that can be updated?

Jumping to next folder on USB

yeah, I'm really noticing now that the last tracks do suck. On the plus side I just figured out if I hold the >>| button on the side of the unit down it will fast forward so I can get to the end of that song faster. I still wonder how they ended up with 3 ways to move songs forward and didn't...

Jumping to next folder on USB

Am I missing something or is there no way to just jump forward a folder when using the USB drive for music? It has 3 different ways to move forward or back a song but no single button to move forward to the next folder. There's the Scan >>| buttons on the right, the knob on the right and the...

    Push Button Off / Park

If you hit the engine stop button while still in drive but stopped doesn't it go to 'accessory' mode rather than completely off? I read that somewhere on here so I now use that when I'm stopping but still on the phone so I don't have to switch to the phone to finish the call.

    CX-5 Startup

exactly, once I knew it wasn't the engine clattering around due to lack of oil I was fine with it.

    CX-5 Startup

this isn't the really good write up but it sums it up: In order to help keep that 13:1 ratio, a series of twists have been added to the exhaust headers, creating a knot that looks something like an interchange along the I-5 outside of Los Angeles. The extra curves are given to the pipes so that...

    CX-5 Startup

I read a great writeup on why it was so loud on initial start up but can't find it now. It was partially because it has a header rather than a manifold so it is thinner walled abut also something to do with the timing when it is cold or something like that.

    2nd 2013 Ford Escape Recall...

Honda just had a recall on the CRV (I think) because the door can fall open when you lock it. It isn't just American Car manufactures that have problems. As complex as cars and the supply chain of parts has gotten I won't be throwing any stones from inside my glass house.

    "Pass Airbag Off" warning light

If you disable the warning light you won't know if the airbag is actually off when someone is sitting in that seat. I don't think I even look at that part of the dash very often when I'm driving, I only notice it when I'm first starting out.

    CX-5 vs. Equinox comparison?

I didn't drive the Equinox but it's sibling the Terrain was on our list for quite some time. We even rented one for a week. So this is a comparison between a 4cl AWD Terrain and the GT CX5 FWD In my opinion the Terrain was smoother than the CX5 but a bit more road noise made it through. The...

    Lighter 17's anybody?

I just read a great writeup on tires in Road and Track: http://www.roadandtrack.com/auto-news/tech/anatomy-of-a-tire and they say that you don't necessarily end up with more contact with the ground: Its common as well for performance upgrades to fit a wider tire, provided, of course, the...

Anyone install Bodyside Moldings on a CX-5?

those actually look pretty good. Now if everyone's door will impact right at that spot... I'd probably worry less if I had those on mine.

GROM USB Adapter - Anyone Using?

it was a .hex file for the update on the USB I don't have a parts list for the cables, maybe the ipod doesn't work on this model but it has gotten into ipod mode a couple of time on accident... I'd recommend contacting them through their site, they are actually quite good at replying.

Automatic Transmission Fluid - Can you change it?

it might have been a bit too much full throttle driving in 100 degree heat to zip around traffic too :) I agree it depends on what is considered 'lifetime' as the Tacoma is still going with 207,000 and at 140,000 the Protege5 shifted like new when it was sold. Will the fluid the the CX5...

    CX-5 Clear Bra anyone?

Automatic Transmission Fluid - Can you change it?

In the link in my prior post it shows the dipstick, it is just bolted in so it isn't real easy to remove to check it. I know the engineers at Mazda should know what they are talking about but I have a lot of trouble thinking that the fluid in there is good for 'life'. On my Tacoma on the same...
