I don't know dealership policy, but if I was a tech there, seeing that the PCM harness was previously tapped would be a big red flag to me. Remember, they have pinout charts, so they know exactly what wires were tapped and what for.

More than your internals can handle. See my last comment. With the MSP platform, an upgraded clutch should be one of the last things on your list. Before servicing your MSP yourself, get a shop manual. If you can't afford a shop manual, at least get a Haynes manual.

If your PS fluid resevoir is a bit low, your pump can produce an audible whine (louder with decreasing fluid levels). You may not be able to "feel" your steering affected if your fluid level is high enough. It sounds a lot like metal on metal. Just a thought.
