2007~2015 Frequent AC Condensation FLOODING my CX-9 floorboard. Any REAL solutions?!

I only ran into a plugged line once in my wife 09 cx9. Is was for the rear A/C and you could hear water sloshing around. I did the compressed air option with an empty pump sprayer (like one used for lawn weed killer), pumped it up a bunch, put the nozzle at the end of the drain and blasted it...

Comparing 87 to 91 octane for the 2.5L non-turbo engine

Right on. Very minimal tech, inefficient power wise by today's standards and it was designed to run on 87 octane. If you think about it, the stock Foxbody had 225hp, which was respectable at the time. The new 5.0 is 460hp. That's over 2x the power with same displacement and yet yields as good...

Comparing 87 to 91 octane for the 2.5L non-turbo engine

I think we're saying similar things, just different way. At least on the turbo, the ECU is probably programmed for best performance with 93 octane. If someone uses lesser octane, the sensors and whatnot 'dial it back' to protect the engine. As for my Mustang, it does not have a knock sensor. I...

Comparing 87 to 91 octane for the 2.5L non-turbo engine

I think what theblooms was stating is that changing to higher octane doesn't absolutely mean more power unless the system (engine/tune) can take advantage of it. The turbo does take advantage of that extra octane....at least above 4k rpm according to the graphs. The naturally aspirated engine...

    2.5T CX-5 Brake part replacement

Yup. And to make it more confusing, DOT 5.1 is compatible with 3 and 4.

Black is not a color, it's a hobby

I'm also part of the 1 bucket and pile of microfiber towels crew. Seems to be the best at keeping dirt out of the soap bucket. The 2 bucket method is good, but I feel like you still risk scratches because you won't get all the dirt rinsed off the mitt before dipping back into the soap.

Black is not a color, it's a hobby

What's crazy is some people see the swirls as 'shiny' paint. After correcting my Golf R last year, I cringe every time I see swirled out (aka hammered) paint. When I was correcting the paint, I thought it looked less shiny, but after ceramic coating and getting it in the sun, it looked like...

CX5 2018 (Aus) - Enable more safety features

Funny you mention that. I recently read an article that's what Tesla is doing with their long range models I believe. No change to vehicle physically, just 'unlock' the extra battery capacity that's already there. I think it was a $4000 charge to reprogram.

    Got into a accident yesterday

Damage is in the rear. If you look close, you can see the bent rear wheel. I didn't notice it at first.

    Question about extended warranty

Sheesh, how many miles do you drive a year to be able to save $3k a year? I barely spend 1/2 that even with the high gas prices....and that's with 2.7L Ecoboost Ford Edge.

    Mass Airflow Sensors - MPG

Anyone have any links to these sites where they report improved MPG with mass air meter change? Also, if a company could safely increase MPG by ~15% (assuming 5mpg added to 34 mpg rated highway) without impacting power, wouldn't you think they'd implement it?

Changing the water pump to be on the safe side

How many miles are on your CX9? How much longer do you plan to keep it? My wife's 09 CX9 was at 185k on original water pump and coolant when we sold it a few years ago. I think I added a total of 1/2 qt coolant to the reservoir in the ~10 years we owned it, so it really didn't lose any...

    Mass Airflow Sensors - MPG

I'm curious how changing MAF sensor would impact MPG any significant amount. Going out on a limb, but I believe the CX5 uses a 'typical' closed loop feedback system in which it reads O2 sensors to adjust fuel ratio when it's up to operating temp. This under most part throttle conditions. All a...

Learnings from messing with my 2018 KF CX5

I was going to say it looks lifted. EDIT: Or wait, the 2nd sentence in the OP stated "This is what it looked like when we bought it brand new from the dealer" So that may have been before lowering?

Wrap Shifter Console in Matte Black (Gloss Black Delete)

Looks very nice. I don't have a CX5, but this would be an excellent mode for my Edge. Piano black drives me nuts.

    Heaviness after sound deadening?

Completely agree. That's roughly the difference between 1/2 and 1/4 tank of gas. Running through a tank of gas must make the OP's CX5 go from undrivable to a race car as far as handling.

    Heaviness after sound deadening?

I was also going to ask what brand and how much sound deadening were added? Thinking out loud, not on a CX5, but on my 4 wheel vehicles (SUV's and car, not motorcycle), I do not notice any difference when my wife and 2 kids get in the vehicle as far as handling. I'm sure there is some effect...

2021 CX-9 Wanders at Highway Speed

Maybe they'd be willing to swap the wheel set with the Bridgestone's to your car for just a test drive. That would allow them to rule out (or in) if it's the tires/wheels. I know you had it aligned, but the way you describe it sounds like it's an alignment. Or possibly something ever so...

    Dealer charging for PCM/TCM updates?

I think the term 'buyout' is what's causing confusion. Buyout could mean the dealer is buying out the remainder of a lease (remaining payments + residual) and getting you into a new vehicle, in which you could be losing out on a lot of cash. I was referring to the leasee buying out the lease...
