I have a CX-9, but same turbo engine. I've been consistent at 21-23 MPG mixed driving, and during our last roadtrip it went to as much as 29 MPG average during pure highway driving. With 5.5 miles each way you probably don't even reach full operating temp, which can affect MPGs.

Not the gear ratio, but the upshift and downshift points. So yes, it generally just holds the gear at higher RPMs. I'm curious as to how this affects MPGs. Please do let us know your feedback when you have it!
