    Not getting fuel

Check your crank sensor and the wiring down to it from the plug near the engine hoist eyelet. If the wiring is chaffed or damaged it'll cut the engine. Mine did and never threw a code.

Mazda3 ATX 2nd gear acceleration lag (Please help)

My sister just got a 2005 3 hatch with a 2.3. She made similar comments about the tranny. I cleaned the throttle body and ran a ground wire from 1 of the 4 mounting bolts on it over to the body mounting bolt for the battery ground. I got the idea from posts on here and thought- its almost free...

What have you done to your P5 today?

I didnt notice any real vibes from my stiff front inserts. However, if vibes are a concern for you perhaps start with the softer urethane and if you arent happy with the results you can try window weld in the other mount and throw it in and see if its any better/worse? I got my liquid urethane...

What have you done to your P5 today?

My front has inserts. I emailed rr racing for mine and it is stiff. I had a rear insert too and it was way too stiff. Like the dash was gonna fall off! I pulled it after a week. Awr are pretty soft inserts in comparison to that. Id say if your rear is like a 40a urethane it should be similar to...

What have you done to your P5 today?

I used an aftermarket in the rear before i filled one. It sagged after a few months resting on the bottom of the mount causing vibes. I got another dea mount and filled that one. Once its filled it cant sag lol. My front i barely felt with 90 duro inserts. Even with the awr sides it was minimal...

What have you done to your P5 today?

The front and rear are the roll mounts so if one is filled and the other isnt it might still move/roll. Filling the front shouldnt add any vibes. The rear is the worst for vibes. My front inserts are 90ish hardness and i barely felt it. Also, is the rear completly dried? The outer edge might...

    2003 Protege5 Bogging

Coils and plugs for sure. You could try removing and cleaning the 02 sensor wiping it off with tb cleaner or rubbing alcohol and see if the 421 code goes away. The non fouler is great as long as you don't live in CA they frown on those here. But theyre cheap and easy to install and work 99% the...

What have you done to your P5 today?

Awesome! Sounds like how i did mine too. Hows it feel with that rear mount filled? Mine has 60a liquid urethane and it has a little vibration but ive got the sides with awr inserts and front has a rr insert. I feel it at idle but passengers dont really notice. Comforting knowing itll last a...

    2003 Protege5 Bogging

A blinking cel makes me think coil packs. Id wait for your code reader before you spend any money. But generally when i get a used car ill replace the plugs thermostat water pump and fuel filter. If theres no maint history i try to do the fuel pump and timing belt also. I had an issue once where...

    2003 Protege5 Bogging

Bad coils usually throw codes and cel will flash. It sounds like a fuel issue from what youve described. Id go with a new pump and filter if not for anything but piece of mind. Another thing to check is the fuel pump relay under the hood. They get crispy and corroded after while. Id also put the...

    NA P5 performance gains

Do you have a manual or auto? Easiest way for power is swap the turbo and exhaust mani from a speed protege. But thats kinda expensive. If stick you could swap in the ecu from a mp3 to get a better powerband. But youve gotta run 91/93. Also, ive read this doesnt work with an auto. If youre...

    KL Swappin' Protege5

I must agree with 323 and 31N007. My 1st try was about 6 hrs. but probably 2 of it was waiting for an extra set of hands with the thru bolt and borrowing a 6pt socket for the 3 nuts on top. After that is was about 2 hrs to change it out. Firewall stud is a pain. Don't even try 12 pt if you've...

    KL Swappin' Protege5

I did it 3 times. All from the top without removing the intake. It sucked all 3 times! But the 1st was the worst. It had just over 100000 miles on it. Those 3 nuts on top were difficult to break loose. Use pb blaster or some kind of penetrating spray. 6pt socket and like 18-24" worth extensions...

Rear End Link Length for Protege5

I use the 68s with mine. Lowered eibachs and progress rear bar. Keeps it horizontal. Had to switch the upper zerks to 90* ones to keep them from hitting the body.

    Motor Mounts and Shocks?

I replaced my mounts in a kit off Amazon and they seemed comparible to stock feeling. However, the rear swap was a PITA. So I decided to use inserts in the front and rear mounts to prevent those from tearing again. I got like 95 duro inserts from RR. Bad idea going with such a hard urethane. The...

    Motor Mounts and Shocks?

The mazdaspeed proteges used racing beat springs that lowered it about .75 inches and tokico blues. That setup fits the p5 but I remember reading something about rear end sag because of the spring perch or something like that. Youll probably have to look into that more as my memory is a bit...

    Motor Mounts and Shocks?

What is your overall purpose for it? DD? Autocross? DEA or Anchor mounts from auto parts stores or even ebay or amazon will work for a daily. For added support you can do AWR inserts or fill them yourself with liquid urethane. The 60A is good for a daily as its not too stiff. If you want a...

    Which tire fits best!

Im running factory 17s off a 2005ish miata. Offset i dont know. With eibachs and tokicos i have run both 205/40 and 215/45. I like the 45s better for both ride quality and it seemed like the 205s were kinda stretched. The rim seemed to stick out more than the rubber. Some guys like the 40s...

Oil drain plug flew out on highway

I believe the only difference is that hook thing on the top. Its to hold the shifter cable on automatics. Easily removed for manuals tho

    Grif's White P5

If you are looking for a nice blend between comfort and performance - keep the side inserts and fill the front and rear with either the 3m or 60a liquid urethane. Im running inserts in front and sides and a urethane filled rear. In my auto i have minimal vibes. And its my daily.
