    hot pipes

Did yours just crack? Otherwise there isn't a real reason to get one. I wanted to move the boost source to my WGA as close to the turbo as possible, so I bought a used SLS hotpipe so I could run a tap through a silicon coupler just off the compressor outlet. This turned out to be one of the...

    o2 sensor spacer

The catalytic converted will convert more oxygen into carbon dioxide effectively making the exhaust more "rich". Narrowband O2 sensors like we have will read around .5v at stoich. As more oxygen is available due to running lean it will read lower voltage. If you remove the oxygen by adding...

    Edelbrock 15033 down pipe

Is that normal for a muffler shop to not have bends? Yeah definitely don't pinch it off if you can avoid it. Keep up the good work.

    Possible Cracked Exhaust Mani?

It only takes a couple minutes to take off the heatshield. It is kind of a puzzle to take off, but you'll find the angle you need without too much trouble. Don't force it. You'll need an O2 sensor socket or you can wedge a crescent wrench behind the shield once it is lose to remove the O2...

    motor build?

It's nice because it doesn't block any rearward visibility. Also is a nice place have to your lunch.

    Edelbrock 15033 down pipe

Are you going to put the flex pipe right off the flange? I'd use an elbow to get the flange to the flex pipe as perpendicular to the ground as possible, then put the flex pipe between the elbow and the mid pipe. That would give the engine and the exhaust the greatest range of motion from each...

Mishitomo w/ FMIC or Ron Davis w/ SMIC?

Steedspeed has just proven to be the most reliable of the aftermarket options. The list price on the stock manifold from Mazda is $1500 which is just stupid, but I wonder what Mazda plans on doing with the extras since absolutely none of those are going to sell unless they are covered by an...

    mods for 200 hp?

Haze has a very good point. It is very hard to resist, but the FRS won't have all the "age" problems that the MSP has. I don't mind modding a car, I mind hunting for exhaust leaks, replacing worn shocks, worn bushings, broken motor mounts, interior creaks and rattles, wheel bearings, broken CV...

Mishitomo w/ FMIC or Ron Davis w/ SMIC?

Leen still lists the t3 on his site and I wouldn't think it would be that hard to cut off the t3 flange and replace it with a t25. Maybe I am wrong but seems like it would be a better option than letting them go to waste.

No I don't believe the software version will affect the tune. It shouldn't matter as long as it loads.

    mods for 200 hp?

I like your list. I don't think it can be had for $1300, but not too far off. I don't think meth or any charge cooling is a good idea on a daily driver. Nor is it necessary for 200whp on an MSP. Sure, it buys some insurance, but you don't really need it with a pggyback like the SSAFC. There...

    mods for 200 hp?

Yeah that is true, 250 is about where it runs out of steam. And yes, I am talking about a modded MSP. You are right about the cooler air, which is why a GT28RS will make more power at the same PSI than the stock T25 will. No argument there. But that doesn't mean you can't get more than 250...

    mods for 200 hp?

The MSP curb weight is 2843lbs. The STi curb weight is 3373lbs. A stock STi is rated at 305hp at the flywheel, and loses about 20% on the way to the ground due to AWD. That is debatable, but if we go with an unbiased result like Car and Driver it's actually a little more on a Mustang dyno...

    mods for 200 hp?

250whp is very achievable on the stock turbo, it's not going to chase down a Corvette on a highway, but I think many would agree it is plenty for this car. It is roughly the same power to weight ratio as a stock Evo or STi.

    AEM F/IC writeup

yes, there should be a base.fi6 file or something like that in the AEM directory when you install it. Here was my last tune I believe. I no longer have the FIC, so I can't be of too much help. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1eecaR7erA6Tnl2Z2xaZHBLYnM

If you don't see the connect button, it isn't connected, which means your computer doesn't see the FIC. The manual has some troubleshooting tips for connecting the FIC to your computer. Try there first.

    Edelbrock 15033 down pipe

I am sure both are fine with differences that would be too small to measure without all other variables controlled. What I dislike about the design of the GHL is that the wastegate tube appears to be equal diameter to the turbine outlet, which doesn't seem ideal.

    Edelbrock 15033 down pipe

Yeah I am aware the GHL is not produced anymore and I caught the sarcasm, but we can still discuss the pros and cons. And it's not like all the GHLs suddenly vaporized, they turn up every now and then.

    mods for 200 hp?

I am not concerned about outrunning anyone on my way to work. It is all about having fun and enjoying my drive. Now, I will agree that the MSP is frustratingly slow at times. For instance, when you have four people in the car with the A/C on in 115 degree weather. I hope hell isn't as bad as...
