    Gear Shift fell into floorboard

Thanks for the vid Natey but I'm looking for a more solid repair. I've got some tips I'm exploring and will decide what's more mechanically sound to implement.

    Gear Shift fell into floorboard

Necrothread bump; I'm having this issue right now and I used every combo of words I could think of to search 24/7 for repair info on a 1st gen Protege. Only two threads for this exact issue and this is one of them. I did check out the 'other' site mentioned and found quite a bit of info there...

What have you done to your MSP today?

Merry Christmas to all and hope all are well out there! Santa brought my MSP new 12mm 5x114.3 Hubcentric Wheel Spacers to try something different from the Ichiba 10mm set I've been running for over 5-6 years now. Got a bunch of new tools & storage for Christmas so time to make some car repair...

    120,000 mile service

If you have no service records showing the differential/transmission fluid has been changed then by all means. Hornsfan 10609 recommends every 25k-30k depending on how you drive her I would guess.

    120,000 mile service

Don't forget to check your spark plugs, inspect/squeeze all your hoses and ensure clamps are tight and eyeball/measure your brake pads & rotors.

1994 Protege Gear Oil - the case of the missing fill plug

I just did this a few months back. If your '94 Protege is a manual, the transaxle is refilled by following the speedometer cable to the transaxle and removing the speedometer sensor itself. You will see a Min & Max level indicator on the sensor/gear shaft. A long funnel will be required to...

Options for replacing factory struts and springs

True but I'm wondering if the seals have begun to leak and there's oil stains etc after that many miles of use. I'm curious that way.

Options for replacing factory struts and springs

Hope you'll take pics of the components during the R/R to record what normal wear-n-tear on the OEM after 145k+ miles looks like.

Options for replacing factory struts and springs

^ Do you mean 'racing beat' vs 'racing hart' dude? The link provided says "Racing Beat worked extensively with Tokico on the development of the shocks that were incorporated into the suspension of both the 2001 Protege MP3 and 2003 MazdaSpeed Protege models" so I'm reading the struts shown will...

Options for replacing factory struts and springs

Here's a link to the Protege page on Racing Beat's website: http://www.racingbeat.com/Mazda/Protege.html?id=9DYxJwQf New seat of springs = $210 and OG Tokicos = $136 - $145 each so you're looking at $800 +/- to re-new an OG setup I'm guessing.
