    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

What's the purpose of such intrusive reminder then? With two keys present, the system should proceed as normal- giving me one usual beep, and not even bother re-unlocking, because the door already is. Small things, I realize. That add up to the overall "rough-edged system" perception.

    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

Not sure what you mean, but a good design should save the user from themselves, always. I can speculate how things got confusing at the use - case stage of development, then there was no time to update the project after integration.

    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

How does this matter for unlocking doors? Regardless, it has no confusion starting up...

    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

No, I'm talking about the case when my wife and I approach the car at the same time, with both having keys. She unlocks passenger door a second before I press my unlock button. I don't hear "her" beep because it's noisy outside. When I hit my door button the car yells at me with series of beeps...

    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

Well, it is clear that it shouldn't auto-lock if it senses the key. Inside or outside. And it should auto-lock when all the doors are closed and there's no key in sight. Why invent all there weird "ifs"? And with additional button on the trunk to request the lock, what kind of auto-lock are we...

    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

I understand there's the manual, and you can trust that I thoroughly went through it as soon as we brought a car back home. But does the logic described there makes sense to you? Many things work against human logic, as is evident from this thread and others. So how good is design if you have to...

    Walk-Away Locking.. faulty or normal?

I always wonder what is the use case for the "passenger exits late and the car doesn't auto-lock" feature? Or the"trunk closes last and the car doesn't lock". Or "moving away too fast". Or "closing driver's door and running around the car to the already locked passenger door". Or should we call...

    Look what Ive got.....

I'd point all of this out at the drop-off. Although this will not mean or change anything. I'm sure even the owner of the outlet wouldn't care less, nevermind the guys at the counter. The car will be out of circulation in less then a year. Very few people, mostly European folks like you and me...

I bet it was the only fresh oil it has ever seen since the factory fill. Very sad indeed.

Navigating to POI using your voice (2017 CX-5 Touring)

Looking at the mechanical side, there were few places that our Mazda went where I wouldn't venture into in my Tahoe. Handling, car feeling, engine-tranny tandem, AWD... These things are superb. Fuel economy- not so much compared to Tahoe (normalized to weight, engine size, power, etc).

Navigating to POI using your voice (2017 CX-5 Touring)

No, unfortunately. Car doesn't auto-lock-up when the driver gets out first, and passenger(s) close their door(s) later (push-button start cars). The crime of hitting door handle unlock button while doors are already unlocked. It beeps and screams at you like you're stealing it. No fuse for the...

Navigating to POI using your voice (2017 CX-5 Touring)

Most of electronics on Mazda vehicles are as bad as mechanical systems are good. Gets me wonder what was the train of thought while designing so many aspects of it...

    Stolen CX5 recovered

It is easy to do with a pair of available transceivers that act like a range extender for the key fob. The frequency that the fob works on is not a big secret. The guy stands by your car with transceiver in his pocket. His girl stands right by you at McDonalds dine - in line. Her transceiver...

Ok, I will start a thread on this when I get the darn thing that I ordered from China. Sorry for the tangent!

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

There will be no coolant flowing through the modified adapter. Worst come to worst, I'll put a tap to the ATF ports from inside of the contraption, when I cut it open. Regardless how the finned ATF internal line is arranged. Then I'm gonna screw in proper aluminum or brass hose fittings to the...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

You do, please! Regardless I'll order mine for $40 Canadian shipped from China tomorrow. Too busy now with rum and cigars we brought from Cuba... We'll see how it goes. Should be a fun project.
