    2016 Mazda CX-5 RUST!

That's really nothing. I'm just north of you across the lake. I spray our cars with Fluid Film and Crown (see if you have locations in your area). Next year I will try chain and bar oil, it sticks much better. Any oil undercoating will do in your case. Just stay away from one-time-and-forget...

Tip if you have a 2019 w. Frt camera

I've been there, with my Tahoe though. The film on the lens will become milky even faster then glass, but it's easier to replace it. I installed front camera myself, so it's dirt cheap to replace after 4 years of service. Will be looking into doing it this summer.

CX-5 Water Pump Stretch Belt Replacement

Check if both belts have the same length. I have not done it myself, but I had been watching how my mechanics did that, on different makes/models. They used the tool...

DIY Heater core replacement? 2013 CX-5

They want the job, don't they... And flush means everything is wet inside the core. If it's sort of molasses that plugs it, it may or may not dry up to be blown out with air. Dealer didn't try to blow it out, because if plugged solid and full pressure of the shop air is applied, this may rupture...

DIY Heater core replacement? 2013 CX-5

Quite a chore, eh? Pretty much everything must go. All the trim, levers, steering wheel and A/C... What a pain. I wish you best of luck. Nowhere it is specified what causes the blockage. Wonder if it has to do with this specific coolant, or assembly debris, or ?.. By the way, to pass SMOG...

DIY Heater core replacement? 2013 CX-5

They say cars are built around heater cores. Meaning that to get there you have to take half of the car apart. Is it clogged? Did you try to blow it or flush with garden hose?

Sorry, I saw Canadian currency in the context and assumed... Still. No warranty at all?

    Trunk door light

You've got to be kidding. Few months (if that) into ownership and this LED crap is not covered? No way. Who did you talk to at the dealership? In Canada it is 3yrs, unlimited mileage comprehensive (means bumper-to-bumper) warranty. Go get these guys straight...

    Time for a new battery?

Ours has been doing it since new. Five years old now, has been smart - charged every Friday for at least 24hrs. Electrolyte levels and densities are good. Even after charging it feels lazy the same. I chalked it off as a car "feature".

    Skyactiv Transmission Fluid Analysis Thread

Thank you for doing this. Wonder if you could post the results on BITOG, it would be would be quite interesting to receive comments from the community there. I do not remember many results for Mazda ATF posted there. With your permission I can do this for you, if you're not a member. I also...

    2017~2025 Hood Lift Struts Installed

I'd say excessively heavy. Try aluminum ones that are installed on many cars. Heck, my Tahoe is a great example- feather light, with spring- loaded assisting mechanism. I guess there was the reason Mazda choose to use steel, maybe as a part of the crash protection engineering. But yeah, it is heavy.

    2017~2025 Hood Lift Struts Installed

Thank you. A brief search for something that fits our '15 didn't bring much, but I'm sure I can use any hatch struts of proper length, with brackets. Even the ones for 17+ hoods that you use.
