i have not looked under the car for a while but should lookf for and where is the master cylinder located at?

when i start the MSP i cannot go into right away like i just to be able. Now when i turn it on i cannot put it into gear and the clutch feels so loose. i HAve to pump it and wait until the car is warmed up to put it into gear. Can it be the clutch or the transmission?? thanks for Any inputs or...
