    cx-5 already have rust spot?

I'd think it was the steel works that caused it not the paint treatment. Especially since those don't really do much. I'd avoid the paint treatments just because they are nothing more than an expensive wax job.

    Blacked Out Front Grill Emblem

I didn't see any of the comments on the emblem being flac, it seemed like honest opinions and some had the reason they thought that way added. When you ask "what do you think" you will sometimes get people telling you what they actually think. Criticizing the way the car is parked though...

    Valet parking with keyless fob?

In most instances the damage done by someone prying their way into the glove box is going to cost more than what you'd have in there. However, in the valet instance that this thread is about, you would be able to tell that the valet or other person you gave the car to had forced their way in...

Larger oil filter option/s in here.

and everyone needs a hobby they enjoy. My question is just how many actual lubrication related engine failures are there anymore? Especially on cars that have the basic engine maintenance done on the regular schedule. From everything I've seen the parts protected by engine oil aren't what...

    Sirius trial period

That's my thought too, don't they get a credit card when you sign up for your 'free' trial and then just automatically start billing you if you don't call and cancel. Or did the dealership have it turned on to demo it and never turn it off? Mine worked for the drive home from the dealer and...

    Front seats padding

For me it is more the shape of the seat, it doesn't conform to me as well as some so I end up with pressure points. But Mazda didn't call me when they were designing the seats so I figure they didn't mold it exactly to me

    rear seats headrests obstructing view

I'm a big fan of seeing more rather than less out of a car whichever direction I'm looking. Cars are bad enough with their small windows for styling purposes so it would be nice to have the headrests slide down and more out of the way. Between mirrors, camera and windows there are a lot of...

Flat Battery: Can you charge it?

It can probably handle it but I always remember the guy that rebuilt alternators for the trucks and equipment at a company I used to work for saying "Alternators are for maintaining batteries, not charging them". That is a lot of load to put on the system by having it run the car and try to...

Tips on removing rear interior side panels

<---- woops, didn't read the sticky first -----> Ignore this post, can't see how to delete it

    Grand Touring leather seats ripped.

It looks like whatever did it wasn't real sharp as it appears to have torn the fibers apart rather than cut through them.

    Horn change!

probably also seems louder on the keyfob beep because it is such a short startling burst of sound

    Horn change!

How can that be? It is the same horn getting the same 12 volts. I'd guess it sounds louder because you are outside and away from the vehicle where the sound travels to better than inside the insulated cabin (or even standing next to the door and reaching in).

    Headrest problem

There are those that sit back from the wheel but still like the seat in a more upright position. But in reality it does come down to preferred seating position, I prefer to sit with my back mostly upright and fully against the seat. With the headrests the way they are I have to sit with my...

    Wheel weights

that's a good point, and the Mazda wheel/tire weighs even more than the BMW wheel in the example. The 19" wheels weigh 50% more than the 17s.

    CX-5 Fuel economy

exactly, it isn't an 'economy car' it is a small crossover that gets good gas mileage for that type of vehicle. Being a taller vehicle it lacks the aerodynamics of a regular car. A new Mazda6 will really outdo a Passat but it isn't the same type of vehicle as a CX-5 Autoweek pulled off over...

non tech switch out the 9005 bulb

to be honest I can't even begin to grasp the 'yellow badddddd' line of thinking. Especially for a light I'll never see and doesn't do anything to light my way. But to each their own. To me the bluish tint is getting kind of tired.

hacking GPS to type address while car is in motion... anyone know how?

As soon as the courts start ruling that way and punish those that bring stupid lawsuits against companies then the problem will be solved. Until then companies will just be more and more paranoid. I agree that it would be cool if it could sense a passenger but you'd still have the problem...

    Wheel weights

having them balanced from the start is good and I can see getting it done if there is a vibration but my question still stands: Can anyone explain why more weights would cause a wheel to go out of balance over time more than one that took less weights? I'm no expert but I don't see how the...
