ND+CPL would be great for aviation photos, although keeping the CPL turned might get annoying.

if we meet up for an air show, I'll let you shoot with the 1dIII and 100-400. that will totally mess you up ;)

all depends on the throttle that the pilot is giving it. I've been at 1/250 and been ok. judging by the prop blur in that photo, I'd say he had the right shutter speed. any slower and there wouldn't be enough blur.

nah looks like camera shake. that's a hard photo to take. slow shutter speed and long focal length. are these from the stuart thing???

If you have 2 other lenses that are working fine, I'd venture to say it's the lens.

it's cool. Try to avoid the halos around darker objects. Also, your longest exposure wasn't quite long enough. You're missing detail in the dark areas.

the 24-105 is great on it. I cant wait to try my other lenses too.

got the 5d2 in the mail the other day... haven't had a chance to play with it much... just in the house. I like the look and feel so far... almost exactly like my 50d was but with much better results. I didn't believe the focus stuff until I put the 50mm f/1.4 on. Yikes.

yeah used. if I was going to get a new one, I would just have gotten the refurb one... $1750+tax on canon's refurb site.

Might as well do exploratory surgery. Well, I made the plunge... my 5dII and 24-105 ship to me today. $2400 for the camera and lens together, shipped... if I don't like it, I'll just sell it... if I do like it, I don't know if I will keep the 1d... decisions, decisions... Flyin, how was...

why are you worried about fast moving? The high ISO noise is crazy low on the 5d. with the super wide lenses you use, I think focusing wouldn't be a problem. you can find them for so cheap now, I'll bet in 6 months when people are not pandering over the 5dIII so much you can sell it for a profit.

Have you guys seen the prices of used 5D mkIIs!? they're crazy low right now. I am seriously considering getting one.

finally got my legit copy of LR3 yesterday. working on some edits on some portraits then I'll post them up and get some opinions! I think they turned out nicely for my first real portrait session.

I put it on my calendar. I'll check with the wife!
