    New 3 owner from Kansas

Welcome aboard, LLADNAR!! Congrats on the new-to-you ride as well. You're right. It's a shame that Mazda has not found a way to get a little more power from the 2.3L. And bolt-ons will get you virtually no where. I'm sure there's more there to be had, but the electronics will fight you at every...

    Can I run 225/45/18?

Yeah, if staying w/17's, a 225/45 is perfect. But since you've Plus1ed to 18" wheels a 225/40 would be better.

    Stock 09' "snowflake" rims weight?

I know someone weighed the OE 5-spoke 17's from an '04-'09 car using a veterinary scale. They weighed in @ 19.6 lbs. I wouldn't think they have changed that much. I question the 22.1 lbs listed above? I know the MS3 wheels are a lot heavier... on the order of 24 lbs each.

    2009 Mazda3 Tail Lights

1st gen sedan= 1st gen sedan. Yes, they will fit. And though you didn't ask, the hatchbacks are different. Even the Speeds are slightly different from the NA hatches, but they can be easily made to fit. Its just a tight fit.

    Is she totaled?

For an 08 3i, I'd say you are making out. See if they will allow you to swap your wheels and any other parts for the OE's and sell them separately.

    black mesh grill

No the sellers there seem to be fixated on the sedans. Its been a while since I've looked, but.... The only one I know of is the MazdaSpeed Accessory grill... and they too are pricey. Not worth it IMO.

You're welcome. I hope it helps you to pick a good one.

    Bilstein vs Koni

I too have H&R's and Koni Yellows and find the ride a little harsh. Personally, for my DD I want something a little less so. As far as being adjustable, the Yellows will only compensate for rebound, not compression. BUT, there is a new kid on the block from them. The STR-T's which are said to be...

    Buying a used 3....advice?

    1) Maintenance and repair records if at all possible would be first. 2) Motor mounts, especially the fluid filled RS upper mount. In 8 yrs/72k miles I've only had mine replaced once, under warranty. 3) If looking into automatic cars, the '04-'05 autos had a hard 1st-2nd shifting problem that...

Need help with rear emblem glue

Brake claener?? I wouldn't recommend that. But sometimes its just a matter of rubbing it with your fingers, until they are raw, of course. My side moldings were on for nearly 4 yrs before I removed them and that's what it took to get the residual off. I'm not alone either.

    Complete CX-5 Wheel Specs

First of all thanks for posting this information. It confirms what I had guessed, that Mazda is keeping things as consistent as possible with regards to bolt circle, offset and hub center bore. Second, as you've already stated, any 17" wheel that fits a 3 or 5 series car should also fit the...

    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

Winter driving is accomplished better w/o so much sway bar. Better traction when the body yaws and the weight is transferred to the outer tires. But for clear weather driving, I wouldn't do w/o one!! Glad I now live in Texas where they think a snow storm is 1/2 an inch!!

    Mud Flaps

Check out PowerFlow. They are universal but have an expandable "flap" that will form to the body pretty well. They are trimmable as well. That's what I have on mine. As an added extra bonus, you can buy TWO complete set of four of those for what a pair of the "Rally flaps" cost... and after two...

What have you done to your MS3 today?

I originally had the AWR RMM in and it drove me nuts for over two years before I just couldn't take it anymore... especially around here where you use A/C 9-10 months of the year. I don't know what RMM you have but I have since installed the JBR 70D billet alum mount. A bit pricey ($120. Not too...

What have you done to your MS3 today?

I'll bet you do! Have you tried it with the A/C compressor running yet?? After that, who needs sex?? LOL!!

    Most Comfortable Spring Setup

Yes, when you put lowering springs on factory dampers, they are no longer "centered" and are therefore already in compression. Well then what about the Eibach's w/Koni STR-T's? They are a twin-tube design that is "lowering spring friendly?" Non-adjustable and said to emulate the factory ride...
