    Test Drive Impressions

I'm actually glad it still has a CD player. I don't use it often, but I care about sound quality, and even the best MP3s don't sound as good as a good CD. The difference isn't hugely noticeable in a noisy car most of the time, but I can still hear the difference in some of my CDs.

Detroit Belle Isle Mazda Corral: May30 - June1, 2014 We're on the Island!

Is the Mazda corral not going to be at Belle Isle on Sunday? I was planning to attend Sunday, too, to see the Pirelli World Challenge race. When I click the link to order a ticket, it seems to indicate Saturday only.

    Carrying a bicycle

I bought that same Saris rack for my 2012 Focus hatchback. I don't trust it at higher speeds. I also don't like having to trust that no one will steel my bike if I'm parked somewhere, like grabbing lunch after one of my longer rides out of town. I also don't like it scratching up the paint...

0-60 MPH time for the 2.5L sedan?

I don't see a conspiracy here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "i" 2.0L automatic doesn't feature the Sport mode, no? I'd almost bet my RX-8 that the Sport mode auto on the 2.5L will accelerate faster than any manual they ever manage to put into it. If my 2012 Focus Titanium can hit 60 in...

0-60 MPH time for the 2.5L sedan?

The numbers look right to me, as well. I always thought the acceleration times for the 2.0L seemed a little slow, if anything. It should be comparable to the Focus, but the quickest times for 0-60 I read for my 2012 Titanium with the dual-clutch was 7.6s. And as the other people pointed out...

    Introduction and an extensive Review

The i GT has vinyl, the s GT has leather (on the seating surfaces).

    Your call everyone

It really is an excellent automatic, especially in Sport mode! I would like to see the slight delay in shifting with the paddle shifters addressed, but even so, it's still a blast. I'm also a long-time 3-pedals guy, but as my daily driver, I'm not complaining about this auto. If I didn't have...

    Infotainment System Bugs

I've still had no issues with my infotainment system since the update. Very happy so far. I just did my nav update--thanks for the info that the site is up again, erickbe.

Ah crap.. Went for a ride with the hand brake up

It was around-town driving, a few miles, probably up to about 40 or 45 mph. Yes, we did notice a bit of a smell. I can't remember if that's what clued us in, or if he didn't notice until we parked.

Ah crap.. Went for a ride with the hand brake up

My best friend did that to my RX-8 when I let him drive it shortly after I bought it. I didn't notice, either, that he had left the parking brake on. Oops. Almost 5 years later and some 35,000 miles, still no harm done that I can tell, and the car still hasn't gone through a set of brake...

    So How's The Road Noise?

It was considerably more isolated and quiet than my new Mazda3, and I would rank it (as have the magazines) as one of the best in the class in that regard. I also wonder if the different versions may have different levels of noise insulation. I had the nearly fully loaded Titanium, and the...

    Transmission Lurches When Downshifting

Nothing wrong with the Fiesta! It's a great little car for the most part. Just needs some steering feel. I test drove one when my 2005 Mazda3 died. It was too narrow inside, but the real deal breaker was the totally numb steering. Ford fixed that with the Fiesta ST, which supposedly has...

    Infotainment System Bugs

Mine is definitely better after the update I had done about two weeks ago, but I want to give it some time before saying for sure it fixed everything, since it started fine when it was new, too. I can say that right now, everything seems to be working as advertised for me. The voice commands...

    My new 2014 Mazda 3 S GT

I used some Mother's leather wipes a couple weeks ago when the temperature broke freezing for a short time. They did a pretty good job for a quick cleaning of stains on the almond leather.

    So How's The Road Noise?

It's not as bank vault like as my 2012 Focus Titanium hatchback was, but I personally like a little more intrusion from the outside world in my cars, and noise deadening material is HEAVY. I think my 2014 Mazda3s GT hatchback is just about perfect for a daily driver.

    Mazda RX-8 reliability

I have my 2009 RX-8 in the system. I never have any repairs on it, though. I've only had 2 issues in 5 years and about 37,000 miles. One was the grinding when shifting into 5th and 6th gears. Turns out it would have gone away on its own after break-in, most likely, but it was fixed under...

    Installed Michelin Pilot Super Sports

I have Super Sports on my RX-8. Great tires. No way I'll spend that kind of money on my Mazda3 daily driver that gets 35,000 miles put on it in a year, though. I will be getting summer-only tires when the OEM all-season Dunlops wear out, just not anything that expensive.

Detroit Belle Isle Mazda Corral: May30 - June1, 2014 We're on the Island!

Wow. I was pissed last year when GM didn't let us in. I already have hotel reservations for Road America, and I am looking forward to that one, but I'll have to think about going to both. I'll need to see the full schedule to see what days I would want to attend. I also see that Shinola is...

    Transmission Lurches When Downshifting

I don't know that this is what rvoll was referring to, but greater engine braking could lead to slightly worse fuel efficiency due to the fact that the car will not coast as far, so you will have to be on the gas longer/later. I noticed this when going from my 2012 Focus to the new Mazda3. I...

New Toys for the 2014+ Mazda3

That exhaust is on my list. I'm hoping to get the 2.5L intake first, once you guys release it.
