Saturn's Future, Opel's Shoulders. Future Saturn Products Stem From European Opels

The Ecotec in the Cobalt SS first debuted in the Pontiac Solstice and Satrun Sky. It is only used in the Solstice, Sky, HHR SS, and Cobalt SS at this point. The Astra and Zafira OPC use a completely different engine. It does not have direct injection, and looking at that pic of the Zafira's...

Saturn's Future, Opel's Shoulders. Future Saturn Products Stem From European Opels

No, it is not the same engine as anything in the states. It's not even an 'Ecotec' in design, not sure if that's actually what they call it, but it's not even close to a Cobalt SS engine.

    Best strut/$$$ option for MSP

I have the Bilstein's. I'm not sure if they're 10" long. I will have to check the length. After riding in sm76's car over a year ago, which had similar spring rates, I would say the Bilstein's are valved pretty stiff. His car felt much more compliant than mine.

    Best strut/$$$ option for MSP

No, the spring is not preloaded. In fact, in order to get the rear to sit at a normal ride height (not higer than stock) the collers are almost at the bottom of the sleeve. Going to a shorter spring would allow more ride height adjustability and possibly get the collar above the rear tire...

    Best strut/$$$ option for MSP

I ran the AWR's for a while (before I sold the car). They were great on the track, but there are some things that could be improved upon. You could search some of my old threads to see some of my thoughts. I still have the coilovers in my garage. I'd like to get rid of them since they just take...

Who wants to explain coilovers to the newb?

I had the AWR's on my car. They handled extremely well at the track. I was happy with them, even though I had my share of installation problems and you do get some creeks and rattles. On my MSP I couldn't run my stock wheels without spacers and longer wheel studs, but my Rota Slipstream's fit...

    Chevrolet HHR SS Released

This car set a production car record at the Nurburgring and half of the in-car video is on YouTube. The lap time has not been announced yet. Also, this is the same engine that's in the turbo Solstice/Sky's, so there's the RWD application you guys are asking for. As for the Cobalt SS, the S/C...

    Best strut/$$$ option for MSP

Some time ago he sold all his designs and left the Mazda market. I bought them and have been looking to produce some of the parts if there is a demand for them. I have been busy with a Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice turbo kit design so I have not had time to put into this recently.

It's probably a Rotrox S/C that's on the front of the motor.

    2006 SSC Ultimate Aero

It's a GM LS series V8 with what looks to be a F.A.S.T. intake manifold.

MAM - Please Post What They Owe You

I actually originally paid for the manifold in the winter of 2004/5. I paid sometime between Nov and Jan of that time frame. I was supposed to be one of the original test cars for the manifold. Currently I am on a work trip in the middle of nowhere Alaska with spotty internet service. Patrick, I...

    300hp Euro Focus ST

Ok, I went to their site for clarification... The 2.8 and the 3.6 are both "High Feature" V6's. They are both DOHC. 2.8L 3.6L The 3.5 and 3.9 are related and are both OHV with VVT. The 3.9 shares 80% of the 3.5 components but has a longer stroke. Both appear to be a baby LS1/LS6. (same...

    300hp Euro Focus ST

2.8L - What's that used in? 3.5, 3.6, 3.9 - Aren't all of these variations on the "High Feature" V6? At least two of them are. 3.8 - that's on it's way out. I will agree though, world wide they have too many varients. But in the US it's becoming more streamlined. The new 3.5L would be sweet in...

    300hp Euro Focus ST

Ford only has one FWD V6 as well. The 3.0L was used in the Contour, Taurus, Sable, Mazda 6, Fusion, Zepher, 500, and anything else I'm forgetting. The 3.5L is a brand new engine that will eventually take the place of the 3.0L in every application.
