    gauge help!!

The MS3 has two O2 sensors. The one before the first cat is a wide band. Don't mess with it, it can seriously confuse the ECU. The second, between the two cats is a narrow band. You can tap into it with any problem. Too bad the narrow band signal is pretty useless, but it will make your gauge...

    Tire went flat

If the tire is repairable, do it. Get a quality shop to do the work. If the leak is not repairable, you would be wise to get two new ones. Another alternative is to get one new and have it shaved to the same tread depth as it's mate. Depending on the amount of wear, do the math to see which ends...

    question on thicker oil.

The additives that make the wide viscosity range are the most fragile in the oil package, and hardest to do. 5w30 is already pushing it, 5w40 is very difficult if not impossible to do, and will have a very short life.

    Throttle Body Ground (by loudboxer)

Heck, go with AWG 4/0. It's only 0.04901 ohms per 1000 feet. (hahaspit)

    Tire Lifetime

This largely depends on driving style, road condition, ambient temperatures, the pressures you run, etc. I am at 35K and half way through my third set.

    Distance till empty "safety net"

It's called the trip computer option on the display above the radio. Some models have 'em, some not. Some of the ones without can use a "secret code" to turn it on; If it's '08.5 or later, you are SOL though.

    Distance till empty "safety net"

Well, I dunno about routinely. I've been driving it this way for 35K imles and still on the original pump. Maybe if the tank is usually run down almost to the bottom, it keeps gunk from accumulating. I am pretty careful not to actually run out, I just don't like to spend more time going out of...

    MS CAI Poll

I've had my MS CAI for 30K miles, no problems. I have an air straightener sitting on the shelf, just haven't put it in. I do run an outerwears cover on the filter. No CELs, no leaks, no water-ingestion.

    Throttle Body Ground (by loudboxer)

In case I confused anyone by this post, here is how you figure it out. Take a volt meter and connect it from your throttle body to the ground post of your battery. Put the red test lead of the meter on the throttle body and the black lead on the battery. If the reading is positive, you need to...

    Good location for ground wire?

There are good ground spots on the front door posts just below the dash. Pop of the kick panel and they are obvious.

    2008 Mazda 3 MAP Sensor

Actually, there is probably a little gain from what is effectively water injection, but actually doing WI would be a whole bunch simpler and cheaper.

Pot hole is natural traffic calming measure

There are a couple of 25mph roads around here with speed bumps (sleeping policemen in the UK vernacular :) ). They are great for suspension tuning. If I can't go 40 without the car getting all squirrly or crashing into the bump stops, I need go tune my shocks.

    Distance till empty "safety net"

I routinely go 40 miles past where the trip reads 0 remaining. Never had a problem. The picture shows my gauge and still going...
