2019 CX-5 nearing end of BtoB warranty: What to do before it ends? Tips?

Yep, I couldn’t find anything about changing rear diff or front transfer case fluid unless it was submerged, this seemed odd to me as my Honda Pilot requires rear diff changed at 15k for the first and 30k thereafter. ask the dealer to show you where it says this service is needed.

(2017 CX5) Does changing only speakers improve sound quality much?

yep, I remember it so well. First it was Dolby noise reduction for tapes, which made a notable difference, but to go to CD was like going from bw to color tvs. I had an alpine cd head unit, was amazing listening to Pink Floyd, yes and so many others…you just heard things you never were able to...

Scissor jack not fitting properly to lift vehicle, doesn't match illustrations? (2016 CX-5 GT)

There is metal on both sides of the pinch welds. The side I highlighted has plastic covering it, but you should be able to jack it up. I use these blocks. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RZQLW9G/

(2017 CX5) Does changing only speakers improve sound quality much?

I had thought, maybe incorrectly, that adding new speakers gives a marginal improvement . What matters more is what drives those speakers. So if you have crap coming out of the head unit, you have crap coming out of the speakers. I have the Bose option, not particularly impressed.

Yeah, that looks the same as I used on my 2019.

OE Moonroof Wind Deflector 1st vs 2nd gen

that’s a pic from my 2019 I posted. It’s an easy install. The one I have, which is genuine Mazda, has a hook like metal bracket that you slide under the metal frame on both sides and the front, and then the screws tighten it up. I’d imagine it would be the same, but can’t say for sure. post a...

Another (but different!) extended warranty question

That’s very expensive, I’d pass on anything more than $1000 or so, but only if it were a Mazda warranty. I don’t trust third party.

    Installed live read out TPMS

Got the one I referenced above and installed it in like 5 mins. Zero issues, very simple. Time will tell how good it is, but I’m impressed with it. Runs off usb, cig lighter or solar.

    Installed live read out TPMS

I’m going to give this one a shot, solar powered. I hate that you can’t actively monitor pressure. Seems really ridiculous that a modern car like the cx-5 doesn’t have active tpms. My 2005 Acura RL had it. Going to add a little anti-seize compound to the valve stem threads to prevent any...

CPO 2018 GT vs. 2022 Preferred

I don’t know, these are very reliable cars. Cpo gives a full year/12k miles.. The factory warranty is over by now. The dealer will sell you an extended warranty for about $1500, you are still ahead If you bought it. Maybe the dealer already did some work. Battery and tires likely have been...

CPO 2018 GT vs. 2022 Preferred

I’d go with the 18 gt, 28k miles is nothing. Might be looking at a little more maintenance, like tires and brakes sooner, but if there isn’t much difference, then I’d go 18 (and did). We have an 18 sport we bought with 22k miles about 6 months ago, no issues, needs the fuel pump recall done...

Can't get the rear brake piston to compress! 2016 CX-5

Thx. I’m aware of maintenance mode, just didn’t realize it retracted the piston fully. Thought it only allowed the piston to retract.

Can't get the rear brake piston to compress! 2016 CX-5

So what’s the consensus on the proper tool to compress the piston back into the caliper? Plan on using it across several vehicles. Not a huge fan of the c clamp since it’s not quite as precise applying force on the piston And it’s a bit clunky something like this...

    Prepaid maintenance plan

Hard pass. The dealer is flat out lying if they say the warranty could be voided by doing service outs the dealership. you’ll spend less than $500 for oil changes and filter replacements Over 3 years, what a joke $1500

    Gas Stations

That isn’t true. Top tier gas is supposed to have added detergents. If top tier stations are using gas without those detergents and get caught, it will be very costly for them in terms of fines, lawsuits and their reputation. Not sure about Mazda, but Honda in the owners manual for my pilot...
