DIY Engine oil change and Manufacturer Warranty

There is no need to lift the CX5 to do an oil change.

DIY Engine oil change and Manufacturer Warranty

I don't use ramp, have Fumoto valve. Only tool needed is screw driver to pull the clips. Hardest part is disposing of oil filter, emptying, cleaning catch pan and funnel. I keep the records on Mazda's Owners site. Also usually send myself and email with the mileage and such.

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

I guess user interfaces are subjective. I'm glad you are happy with it. Mazda seems to generally make great design decisions and has excellent engineering, so I will consider that it may be not to my taste, but may work for others. Do you have experience using other navigation interfaces...

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

I still have the 2000 Acura, but had resorted to using a phone mounted on the windshield. My complaints about the Mazda are the interface. It is clunky, unresponsive, and non-intuitive. It shouldn't take more than 3 minutes to learn how to use. Shouldn't take more than two steps to navigate...

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

The navigation is worse than my 2000 Acura was. Fortunately they added Android Auto retrofit for my 2018. Just wish it could integrate with the turn by turn arrows in the heads up display.

    CX-5 Auto Braking

I'm confused. You essentially hit the brakes at the same time that auto braking engaged. You didn't hit the car. That sounds about just right. Did the antilock kick in? I imagine the safety braking waits until it needs to be very aggressive and then engages hard.

12V power outlet is ON all the time (CX-5 2016). Not good :(

The drain OP wants to measure would be upstream of this device.

    Mazda CX-5 Tire pressure monitoring

Thanks for describing how to program the position. I wondered how that might be accomplished, and that seems like a clever, and straightforward solution.

    2021 CX-5 Wiper Blade options?

I think the blame is seemingly unnecessarily using non-standard attachment hardware scheme so that most existing after-market wipers don't fit.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I'm a mechanical Engineer. The spec is probably 26 with a 15% tolerance either direction. Their specical spec takes the math out of it. They could say 26 +/- 4. Or just say 26, with an asterisk regarding the tolerance. But that might be too complicated for some folks. Personally I...

Aftermarket TPMS sensors need to be programmed?

That cautions hurts Mazda's credibility. What's so special about their wheels? I have aftermarket wheels and my original Mazda TPMS sensors, zero issues. I was cheap and didn't put sensors on my winter wheels. Next time, if there is one, I'll use aftermarket.

DIY How to Flush brake system Mazda CX-5 DIY

I did similar 1 man method when I prematurely changed out my brakes. What made it easier on the nerves and more fun was using an inexpensive Bluetooth endoscopic camera to watch the fluid coming out: 2013~2016 - CX-5 Brake Rotor and Pad recommendations?

What are your favorite aspects of your CX-5?

The Heads Up Display, and how it drives. There is a list of things I would improve, but mostly minor compared to other vehicles. It still often leaves me smiling, and 4+ years in, it still feels like everything is functioning like new.

CX-5 vs CX-50 sales year to date

I would greatly appreciate more towing capacity, and don't want a truck as a daily driver. The lower stance of the CX-50 is the biggest turn off for me. I'm hoping the CX-70 won't be so low, and won't bee too much bigger.

CX-5 vs CX-50 sales year to date

BTW, strange table. The "total" should be across the row, not down the column. Who cares how many CX5s have cumulatively been sold adding all Septembers together? The "total" should be a column next to "Dec" to see the yearly, or year-to-date, numbers.

CX-5 vs CX-50 sales year to date

Interesting. The two models together in 2022 don't add up to CX-5 numbers in 2021. Hopefully that is due to supply and logistics rather than demand.

    Mazda Large Product Technology Forum

I'm most interested in the CX-70. Ideally it would be a 2nd Gen CX-5 with a plug in hybrid, higher towing capacity. Not lower seat position, and not much bigger. I'm hoping it isn't just a 5-seater CX-90. I don't need big and heavy, don't want lower to the ground or better off road...
