    2014 Engine Options...Article From Yesterday

Agreed, I was working out the math and a 2.5 SKYACTIV-G really doesn't make sense when you can get the diesel. The diesel costs more up front, but you eventually recover the cost through fuel savings (versus the current 2.0 engine).

Mo too, I've learned to copy the text I've typed, post it, it shows up blank, delete my post, reply again, paste the text in, post it... and it works :)

    2014 Engine Options...Article From Yesterday

Sure, makes sense, problem is I was about to get a Touring with Tech, so it'd be maybe a $3,400 increase to go from 2.0 Touring to 2.5 Grand Touring. Ouch ;)

    2014 Engine Options...Article From Yesterday

Do you think it'll be available with the Touring? With the Mazda3 and Mazda6 it seems the larger engine is only availiable with the Grand Touring...

    2014 Engine Options...Article From Yesterday

Is it worth it though? It looks like the Mazda3 lost 2/4 mpg going from 2.0 to 2.5 liters (old engines), but only gained 19 hp. The SKYACTIV gains 34 hp, so might lose a little more, so.... maybe loses 3/5, making the CX5-2.5G around 22/26 mpg (AWD auto)? I dunno. Love to have the power...

More clues: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/08/28/2014-mazda6-mazda-6-reveal-moscow/ 189 hp... my oh my ;) But how much will the MPGs suffer?

I've been planning on red, but that gray is really tempting. Very classy and timeless! Did you have your front/side windows tinted?

How well do the rain-sensing wipers work?

Thank you all! I didn't realize you could turn the rain-sensing off, that's pretty cool. Nice to have a choice! And I didn't realize that's what the auto on/off lights did... that's pretty neat too :)

    Simple Elegance

Me too (in my almost about to purchase lol), as it's very similar to my RX-8, including the piano black trim. I do prefer the RX-8's digital speedometer, and I wish the CX-5's gauges had a little more character (like some contrasting blue lighting here and there), but I do appreciate how easy...

Test drove CX-5 on Saturday, have some questions

Me too. The catch-22 is I like the diesel, but not the worries of finding diesel fuel. But there'd be more diesel availability if more people like me bought diesels, lol. Still though, I dunno if I'd pay $2,000 - $3,000 more for the diesel engine. And here in the states, while the higher cost...

How well do the rain-sensing wipers work?

And while I'm at it lol... What is the antitheft perimeter alarm system? Is that the usual bump-the-car-and-it-beeps alarm thing? And what is the auto on/off headlights? Is that when the lights turn off automatically when you turn off your car (if you forget and left them on), or is it when...

How well do the rain-sensing wipers work?

I've never had rain-sensing wipers before, and I'm not sure how well they work? I think I read they REPLACE the usual Intermittant setting.... true? Do you find that you miss the Intermittant option, or does the rain-sensing work well enough? How sensitive is it?

    Post CX-5 Reviews...

Not a review, but certainly interesting.... diesel version running around the Nurburgring ring. And I thought the Leguna Seca laps were impressive, lol.... http://www.alvolante.it/video/mazda_cx_5_Nurburgring

Test drove CX-5 on Saturday, have some questions

Do you find that the diesel downshifts less often than the petrol, such as when going up a hill?

    Pros...Cons... Touring vs Grand Touring

I think I read somewhere that the 2013 Mazda3 will have the Advanced Keyless Entry available on Touring, not just the GT. I suspect they'll do the same for the 2014 CX-5.

Test drove CX-5 on Saturday, have some questions

Agreed, it's really pretty much average in an overall sense with the other CUVs out there. The latest C&D tested the batch of small CUVs, and found: In 0-30, the CX-5 is as fast or faster than the CR-V, Sportage and RAV4. In 0-100, the CX-5 is faster than the Escape. In 0-110, the CX-5 is...

Test drove CX-5 on Saturday, have some questions

I don't own one yet (hesitating for same reasons you mention), but with over 2 hours of test drives I feel like an honorary owner ;) Personally, I think it's pretty frisky in city driving. I drove it through all sorts of 0-40-0 kinda traffic, and it zipped along just fine. I even found myself...

Test drove an awd touring and a fwd manual sport today. My opinion.......

In looking at a recent Car and Driver article though, the odd thing is the CX-5 is only slowest in 0-60 compared to it's competitors. In most of the other acceleration statistics it placed midpack or at the very least tied for last with other CUV's... and yet those vehicles aren't picked on...
