Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

So I think that goes back to the whole CX-9 exists..... if you want more space there is a larger vehicle available. Much like Jeep has Grand Cherokee, VW has Atlas, Honda has Pilot and so on.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

This! I think most of the advantages some other CUV like the CRV have in some instrumented tests is probably mostly if not all due to the wider tires.

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

I can say with VW their global product is better than their US/NA only product. Just look at previous gen Jetta compared to the Golf......

Mazda want more CX-5 sales in the USA?. Make it a bit wider and longer

Honestly compare the dimensions to a 90s Explorer. If you want a bigger CX-5 get a CX-9.

2017~2025 Mazda CX-5 "Reserve" Bose System

I think the Bose system is alright but not great. The Fender (Panasonic) system in my GTI is much better. To the comment earlier about turning up the bass. Thats just a bandaid and doesnt fix the lack of low frequency response. Youre essentially extending the mid bass excessively. Doesnt sound...

Ikr. The Pilot Alpins Im using on the GTI are even louder. At least the CX-5 has good sound insulation so its not too loud in the cabin.

I think the conti is definitely a good choice. I feel the Michelin is probably more performance balanced but its hard to judge without a direct comparison. Unfortunately Tire Rack used different vehicles in their test of each so those results comparatively arent meaningful.

I went with Xice specifically due to better wear performance.

I think the LTX probably wears closer to a performance tire than a high mileage tourer. I think its the expectation misalignment thats causing the negative reviews. But hey treadwear is 620 IIRC. My Pilot AS3 I had on my last car were 500. I dont expect it to be worse and as long as it isnt Im...

And unless you live where its always clear weather 2/32 isnt realistic.

    Smooth Ride

Yea I think Im ok with the trade off in wear and since I also run winters they will still last me a while. I just checked and at 18K it the Toyo are actually at 8/32 still.

I run winter tires anyway so Im not too concerned about an all weather.

    Smooth Ride

Yea Im honestly pretty happy with the Toyo in terms of performance but treadwear is very low. While the LTX arent as good in the treadwear department as some of the other aftermarket options they should definitely be better than the OE Toyo. To the OP post I do think its mostly that Mazda did a...

What's Likely To Change For 2020?

I think the problem is their brand image honesty. I know a lot of people who will not consider anything outside Toyota or Honda and think Mazda is Ford. Even though imo the Mazda offering is better than those two in almost every category where they compete.
