    2017+ CX-5 Moose Test

Back when Volvo was first introducing the XC-90, they held a demo day in the parking lot of a horse racetrack complete with a road course with different conditions to show off the strengths of the SUV. The Moose Test was one of obstacles with an lifesize dummy Moose. We had to go with a test...

    Mazda beats VW... again

When we were replacing our minivan, the Jetta Sportwagen was at the top of the list. My wife and I went to Mazda to check out the 5 which was like a mini-minivan with the sliding rear doors, but my wife wasn't that thrilled about getting another boring car. The she saw the CX-5, which was just...

Mystery noise when driving (2013 CX-5)

Thanks. I*ll try what you suggest. I know it*s been a while, but how much would fixing the bearings cost? Edit: I do not know why quotes and double quotes are showing up as asterisks for me. I*m not trying to be fancy or anything.

Humidity on front windows, can hardly see!

I live in Heat and Humidity Central (South Florida) and at 6:45 in the mornings and most days, no matter the season, theres dew on the exterior glass. I have to set the temp to high and turn on the defrosters to keep the windshield from fogging up again. I only have run it for about 10 minutes...

Mystery noise when driving (2013 CX-5)

I have a 2013 CX-5 that was purchased new in April 2012. I replaced the tires once maybe two years ago. I also had the ECU replaced when the car started stalling a couple of years ago as well. I started noticing a noise after the ECU was replaced but I can*t say that the two things are...

How does that Makita not leave scratches on your paint? ;)

Scary Crash involving sky blue CX-5!!!

Most of the footage of the meteor crash in Russia a couple of months ago came from DashCams. I saw one YouTube video of a public bus driver who purposely crashed into cars that cut him off in traffic. Nothing crazy, he just doesn't slam on his brakes and lets his current speed carry the bus...

Free car wash by Mazda dealer

I have a folding platform that's about 4 ft long and 18 inches tall so that I don't need to move it when I go from the front to the back of the roof. Just when I go from one side to the other. Great timesaver. I do find that it's easier/faster to wash SUVs and Minivans because there is no...

Free car wash by Mazda dealer

I wouldn't do it. I suspect most dealers are not in the business of caring for your car's paint. They're using it as a value added service to distinguish themselves from the other dealers. For you it's convenient and FREE, but to them, they're going to go with the cheapest method of car...

What and how do you use it?

I keep spare change in there. There's only a couple coins in there. I don't recommend having $12.37 in coins in there. You'd probably be picking them up every time you accelerate or take a corner. I keep my garage door opener in the driver's side door pocket where it's kind of out of sight...

    iPhone 5 mount

I believe someone on here posted some pics of a mount that is inserted in the CD slot. I don't have it, but if I really needed a mount, that's one I would consider. On the occasions where I do use my phone as a GPS, I sort of wedge it in the storage space in the dash center stack right in...

Those Taking Delivery of 2014 CX-5 w/ 2.5L Power Plant

If the the difference is not that noticeable, it would be interesting for someone to do a "blind" comparison test, where the a driver drives both cars (2.0 vs 2.5) but is not told which is which and see if he picks the 2.5 as the one with more "power."

Is it better to find financing through the dealer or own your own?

It's always best to arrange financing prior to buying so you know what's the best rate that you are eligible for and how much your estimated monthly payments will be. Then you also tell the salesman that fact so that eliminates any hopes that he can pull some sneaky deal with the finance...

Are there Hooks/Tie downs for rear hatch?

The problem is that there are no attach points on the rear hatch itself so that I can keep it tied down when cargo is sticking out in the back. I threaded the rope through the door latch mechanism shown just below the 'CX-5' logo in the picture displayed. But I had nowhere to secure the other...

Are there Hooks/Tie downs for rear hatch?

I recently had the unavoidable trip to Ikea where we purchased some furniture that came in boxes too long for the rear hatch to close. I looked around for some hook or tie down on the hatch to attach some rope to to keep the hatch from swinging open, but I couldn't find any. I eventually had...

Info current mpg info randomly updates every 1-2 sec

I have it on Average MPG most of the time so I can tell my overall mileage, but will flip occassionally when I'm on a long stretch of uninterrupted road to see what the reading is. In those situations, you can gauge the how efficiently you're driving at the moment. If you drop down from 70 to...

    Issues with Closing Liftgate

I can usually tell when the hatch didn't close all the way by the sound it makes. When closed properly, the sound is a solid Thunk. If it didn't catch, it sounds like a Tha-Thunk.

A place for the Garmin GPS

How nice that you live in UtopiaVille. For the rest of us, all it takes is some bored kids to decide that maybe they can get $20 on eBay for that nice GPS unit left out in plain sight to ruin our day (and car window/door).

    CARGO NET and CARGO TRAY

I'm not really using my cover at the moment since the dog rides in the back on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, it's not even in the vehicle at the moment since I took it out a couple of weeks ago to lug my lawnmower to and from the repair shop. It will come in handy around Christmas time...
