6 month Review of my 2019 CX-5 Signature

Completely off-topic, meta question: Did you intentionally put fob in all caps? I see this a lot, and I'm wondering if there's some autocorrect that insists that the person typing must be abbreviating Freight On Board.

    Waze Navagation

Waze is great if you have enough people in your area who use it. If you're the only one, it's pretty useless.

    Warranty Length

The powertrain warranty doesn't cover bullets through the engine block, anyway.

Interesting... It looks like the ADAS uses the radar for SBS, and the camera for SCBS. Pitter's car doesn't have radar, so it's lacking SBS (confirmed by the Mazda Colombia site) but it does have SCBS.

I expected to see a flat badge with a radar set behind it. What Im seeing instead is the same front badge thats on North American vehicles that dont have adaptive cruise or AEB. Theres nothing new about it.

The button is the camera for the 360 top-down view, as well as for parking assist.

Not on Pitters car, it doesnt.

The thing under the badge is your front camera. And theres definitely no front radar set on your CX-5.

Looking at the badge on your front grille, it looks like you dont have a front radar unit. What the hell?

Mazda to switch to Toyota Financial Services for loans, leases

My mortgage is also through my credit union - I called them a while ago and asked how it would work if I wanted to make a half payment every other week. They said that any partial payments would go into what amounts to an escrow account and be held until there was an adequate balance to cover a...

Mazda to switch to Toyota Financial Services for loans, leases

They say that to get people to under-pay on the next payment (because they want their interest) but its still a simple loan and any overpayment does indeed reduce your principal. Ive regularly rounded up car payments to the nearest $10 or $100 increment with Chase and with my credit union. They...

Mazda to switch to Toyota Financial Services for loans, leases

Car loans get bought and sold all the time, too. Its usually when theyre not in good standing, though.

    What Kind Of Wood?

Yeah, I justified stepping up to the Signature for the parking sensors and the top-down view cameras. If the interior upgrades had even been $200 as a stand-alone package, I would have passed.

Mazda to switch to Toyota Financial Services for loans, leases

I know they were running 0.9% in June when I first started looking, and it continued into July when I finally bought.

    Ferrari wheel experiment failed (sorta)

Backspacing on that wheel is almost identical to a 9.0 +38, and those will fit all day.

Mazda to switch to Toyota Financial Services for loans, leases

I think I financed at least one car through TFS about 15 years ago. Apparently I didn't have any complaints, since I don't remember the experience distinctly. Or maybe it was the Toyotacaine effect extending to the finance process... Either way, I don't really care. My only question is...

    Ferrari wheel experiment failed (sorta)

Yet Tire Rack will gladly sell you a 21 x 9.5, +45 wheel (and tell you to put a 245/40R21 tire on it). It must be right on the ragged edge of what will fit.

    Ordering a CX-5

Theres no point. Other than colors and maybe an option package, there are no factory build options within a trim level. Everything else is a port- or dealer-installed accessory. You may have to get a dealer to order a vehicle with a particular combination, but its not going to be a customized...
