    Official Canadian Pricing & Options

the conversion factor doesn't necessarily apply well for car prices. When the exchange rate was $1.50 CDN/USD, cars were selling for something like $1.25 CDN/USD... they were different. I'd wait before making more speculations for US prices. But those ARE competitive prices...

    AutoWeek Review of the Mazda3

What we need is some JDM stylin' and tunin' for our Mazdas. The last P5 has got to be the coolest Protege (and even coolest car) of its generation (within it's economy class, of course). What we be needin' is an AWD, 165-hp Mazda 3... for a base model. Then add a turbo model :)

    Edmunds First Drive: Mazda 3

apparently so... well, 12 horses and 14 lbs/ft.

does anybody care about the sedan?

I doubt it. The car has power and stiffness. If the car drives like crap and has poor reliability, then the price will drop.

    release date

Yup. from what I've heard, Late November (Canada). USA should be around the same.

does anybody care about the sedan?

I'm TOTALLY into the sedan. I like the style of sedan. Less tail wag too :) And you can add a fancy spoiler. Don't worry, man. You're not alone.

Seriously, the dash board of this car is so ugly!

The only solution I see is if you get a tape player adaptor (lowest trim comes with a tape player only I think), or one of those wireless audio adaptors, that you hook up to the Mazda 3 audio system. Then you use your MP3/CD player as the sound unit. You could probably add speakers (with some...

I rode in the Mazda3 today

Hey wongpres, Just wondering where you got these values? cuz 17k IS really cheap for a car with 150hp and disc brakes all around...

    Anyone

I drive a car with 78 hp. And always have (for the last 2 years). Pretty much any car on the road tailgates me. Especially guys with modified civics and high-end sports cars. I honestly don't mind high end sports cars tailing me. If they become a nuisance, I try my best to get out of his way...

    Edmunds First Drive: Mazda 3

"The more powerful 2.3-liter engine scratches to the redline more eagerly while retaining a smooth and quiet delivery that doesn't discourage winding out each gear. There's more pop than the base engine, but only those with a dedicated yearning for performance are likely to find it necessary to...

Doesn't stiffer chassis translate into better cornering?

    Mazda 3 Preview

Mazda 3 Sport (Hatchback) comes in at: 2892.96 lbs. Roughly. Mazda 3 Sedan (2.0L): 2712.15 lbs. Mazda 3 Sedan (2.3L): 2837.835 lbs. I'm a Canadian-folk, but I'm so used to seeing weight in pounds. :D Thanks wongpres. That clears things up a lot.

that's pretty sweet. Thanks for that heads-up :)

    Mazda 3 Preview

I'm QUITE sure it's gotta be a misprint. ( the weight) The tradeoff of stiffness and weight? I would prefer something stiff AND light... but probably something more light than stiff. I really doubt that they can stiffen up the chassis that much. Also, reviews have talked about how the ride is...

    Mazda 3 Preview

3000 lbs... that's Mazda 6 territory!!! (3062 lbs for Mazda 6) O_o... They must've made a miscalculation of some sort... that CAN'T be right... Ford Focus 2004 comes in at 2670 lbs (rounding up). They're coming out with an AWD version?! wow...

Mazda3s fresh off the dock at Vancouver, BC.

    MSRP on Mazda3?

Don't think anything is release yet. From what I've been told, the same prices for the Canadian Mazda Protege will apply to the Mazda 3 when it comes out.

    cost of P5?

http://www.mazda.ca/english/2346.htm I beg to differ. Well, if the P5 is that special model listed at 23k: ...then, I take what I said back. But if its not, then you're looking at MSRP of 20k-ish before options.

hubcaps: Good 'ol steelies for winter tires :) Plus, you could probably buy aftermarket rims in the future? 2-speakers: Is it possible to install more via aftermarket? no CD-player: tape player will probably be sacrificed for an aftermarket CD player I guess as long as the GX trim doesn't...
