    CX9 - vs other crossovers.

Thing is -- I"ve got kids who are 5'10 and 5'6", and whose friends are the same size or bigger, and they go with us. They can use the 3rd row on the CX-9; they could never do that on the MDX.

    CX9 - vs other crossovers.

Gotta agree re MDX and CX-9. We looked at both in our "finalists" phase, and the Acura lacked, among other things, a useable middle seat in the second row, and a useable third row -- at all. If you've got five people to carry with any regularity, the MDX is not an option IMHO, especially if...

    Navigation System CX-9

You know, guys, I'm not getting this. Maybe it's because this is my first new car in ten years, but I find that the Navi system is fine. Map seems up to date, for the most part -- maybe a few gas stations are dated, but roads are fine, and it doesn't keep doing that d**n "recalculating" that...

    rear fan/heat

Our only problem is that when our dog sits in the middle seat of the second row, he sometimes hits the fan and/or heat control for the rear fan, causing his fellow passengers to complain. I'm beginning to think the dog has figured out what those knobs do, and is doing it to tweak the kids.

Which Phones have you been able to connect to the CX-9 via Bluetooth?

Blackberry 8830 World Edition (Verizon) hooks up just fine.

    CX9 - vs other crossovers.

I think your numbers are spot on. By the time you fully load a CX-9 with Grand Touring and all the buzzers and bells -- so that it outfits similar to the "fancy" Acura and other high end crossovers -- you're getting at around $40K, at least in my neck of the woods. Nice thing was, I didn't...

    How are CX-9s selling

They may also pick up in the Northeast as the fall/winter approaches.

    CX9 - vs other crossovers.

Actually, we looked at the MDX, and nixed it. The third row is not as good as the CX-9. The middle seat in the second row was pretty unusable, and dealer said it was, basically, not intended for long distance use. And, it cost a boatload more.

    How are CX-9s selling

Hope so. Right now I feel like I'm driving a Tucker -- great concepts and design, but no others on the road.

    How are CX-9s selling

I've seen nothing on sales figures. I also don't see any CX-9s on the road where I am (Connecticut). So, I was wondering whether Mazda is doing well with these. FiveG

    CX9 - vs other crossovers.

I came down between CX-9 and Cadillac SRX (after eliminating the Acura MDX, BMWs, and Chevies). I loved the look and sunroof of the SRX, but for a combination of interior design and ergonomics, space, and pretty darn good handling, the (cheaper) CX-9 won. And saving a bunch of cash didn't...

Has anyone found a source for map updates? The one on the Mazda page doesn't do it.

    NoGo on my iPod

Frankly, I wasn't "whining" on that, but instead asking. IPOD use is low on my priorities on this -- they have this weird thing called a "CD-changer" that seems to allow one to play music, after all -- but so long as it's supposedly there, I'm trying to understand it. For what it's worth, when...

What else did you/are you considering?

After doing the usual "wide swath" search, I limited the finalists down to the MDX, CX-9, Tahoe, and SRX. Tahoe was eliminated because it "felt" too big, and to get it equipped decently, it ran well into the Caddy territory. MDX was eliminated because the middle seat in second row s**ked, the...

    NoGo on my iPod

I don't have Sirius, but am about to try my iPod with the unit -- I thought the deal was that the system was supposed to give info about the track/album/song/artist if you used an iPod or other MP3 player. Is that wrong? As for moving through the stuff on the iPod, where are the controls...

    Voice Recognition Training

I did the training. So far, Zoom In and Zoom Out work great on the NAVI voice recognition. On the Bluetooth, actually it works pretty well. I have been able to do a lot of dialing from the address book once it's been given the people and phone numbers. I've also had pretty good success...
