A place for the Garmin GPS

This past weekend, I did use the cubby in front of the shifter to prop up my Garmin. It fit pretty snuggly when I placed it at an angle towards me. However, it did become dislodged once when I went over a bump or made a sharp turn, but most of the times, it stayed in place. Another drawback...

Anyone have the rear bumper protector?

Looks nice. I wish that it continued down the vertical crease. I already have a couple of knicks on that edge from a suspected encounter with a hardshell bassoon case which of course has been flatly denied by the owner of the case.

    Hatchback does not lock

Let's eliminate the obvious stuff first. Is the hatch actually closed? For me, I have to be careful that it actually latches all the way.

is there suppose to be some trunk cover??

LOl. When I was dealing for my car, I wanted the cargo cover as part of my asking price. The dealer was willing to go with my price but didn't want to include the cover, saying that his price was $250. I told him that he was getting ripped off because I could get it for $160. He relented.

    protecting paint

I did clay my car and there was not any noticeable dirt picked up. I applied Optimum Poli-Seal with PC and a finishing pad since there was no correction necessary.

    CARGO NET and CARGO TRAY

I bought the cargo cover and cargo mat. Both work well.. Don't carry too much stuff for the cargo net. I do have concerns about the hooks that attach the cover to the rear hatch. They don't look too durable.

    Blue engine cover...

I was a bit disappointed that my red car didn't have a matching engine cover. I wonder if someone will come up with a service to repaint them or offer replacement covers in different colors?

Demonstrators...or don't they do that any more?

I think that dealers try to have stock on hand so that people can test drive, but they can't afford to have a handful reserved just for test drives to be sold at a discount later because they are 'used'. Also, they have improved their inventory system enough that they don't have a lot of cars...

Weathertech Digital Fit Floor Liner - Now Available for CX-5

Thanks raden. I like that it doesn't have those rows of bumpy ridges like the CX-7 cargo tray that my Father-In-Law has. My dog will appreciate that. I think I'm going with the Mazda one. I wish somebody made some sort of protector for the interior wheel humps(?) Those get scratched if you...

    Back seat covers?

I bought a cheapy one from Walmart that works the same way that nizzy described, but I'm using it in the opposite direction. My dog rides in the cargo area, so I positioned it in the cargo area to cover the back of the backseat to reduce the amount of dog hair sticking to the carpet material...

Nice! I haven't taken ours to a scenic area yet to take some glamour shots like these. Shame on me!

2013~2016 How do you remove the CX-5 floor mats?

I struggled with the removing the mats this past weekend. The "Buttons" in the center of the grommets are not really Buttons. That center knob visible when the mats are in place is just the end of the fastener attached to the carpets and is held in place by friction. There is no spring-loaded...

    How the manual mode work?

The car will shift down for you as you slow down if you don't do it. For up-shifting, you are responsible for those. The car will stay in the selected gear until the engine hits redline.

Say Hi to the forum, Our Zeal Red Touring and little buying story

I am flabbergasted that someone will just sit on someone else's car in the parking lot. What a lack of respect for other people's property. My wife walked back to her car and there were two guys standing next to it talking, and one of them was leaning up against the side mirror. When my wife...

CX-5 Sport - rear cup holders?

In a pinch, you can use the rear door storage cubby to put a water bottle. I don't think it was really designed for that but the bottle will rest at an angle. Just make sure it's capped tightly. Perhaps you can find a cup holder/storage console that is placed on the hump in the back. For...

    Gas mileage question

In our normal routine of short trips (drop kids to school, groceries, commute to work) all in suburbia, our CX-5 returns around 26.8 mpg. On longer trips, still on surface streets (no highway) it starts creeping up in the 27's. On the highway, it returns low 30's. We still haven't taken a...

    0 to 62 in 9.4 seconds

Thanks, that's what I was getting at. 155hp is more than enough power for the everyday driver. Some critics make it sound like you are going to be squashed by an 18 wheeler cause you're too slow to get out of the way in a CX-5.

    0 to 62 in 9.4 seconds

I'm curious what the average German car's horsepower is considering you can drive 200mph on the Autobahn? Does everyone there own 300hp vehicles?
