What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I have not. It was the other tire I was considering.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Only a couple weeks on them so far, but color me impressed and very happy with them. Quietest tire I've ever put on my CX-5 by far, but for my purposes, more importantly these tires feel extremely well planted. I've taken some sharp turns a little quicker than I should have and let's just say...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Need new tires. Ordered a set of Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3's on Tuesday night. Get them on next Wednesday.

    Getting close for new tires

That's good to know. I should have figured that with the tread pattern. Thanks for the heads up.

    Getting close for new tires

Need to get my winters off. I was mainly deciding between the Continental CrossContact LX25's or the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3's. I ended up ordering the Pirelli's last night since they had an $80 off a set deal going on. I get them put on next Wednesday.

It’s that time again need new all season tires

Sorry for the triple post, just leaving some closure here. I decided to order up the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3's that had $80 off a set of four. After reading tons of reviews and given the general positive sentiment here, decided to try them out. Kinda busy this week so scheduled to have them...

It’s that time again need new all season tires

I hadn't thought about it before but I just remembered my Dad having Defenders on his Kia Sportage and I hated how they drove and took corners when I borrowed his car while my suspension was needing work last summer. So a definite no for me on those particular tires. I'm sure a lot of it was...

It’s that time again need new all season tires

Thanks for the feedback. I am mostly sensible driver to some spirited driving but less so vs say 5-10 years ago lol. Now that I work from home full time for the last 2 years, I find my drives out I sort of default to a why is everyone in a rush method of driving a lot. 😂

What did you end up going with @SBMongoos ?

I think right now leaning towards the Pirelli's. Discount has an $80 off deal going on right now with those. Reading some reviews, I think also leaning that direction as well though.

It’s that time again need new all season tires

My sister just put these on her CX-5 with the goal to just sell her Blizzaks. I don't know, guess could be a good option for me too if I wanted to just sell off my VikingContact 7's. I'm not leaning that direction to be honest, but I suppose it could be on the table.

Source for quality full CX-5 front strut assembly at reasonable price?

Probably not specific to KYB, but change in ride height can be one, other reports of just not feeling as nice. @ruthrj might be right, maybe it was Monroe that was getting all the negative feedback.

Source for quality full CX-5 front strut assembly at reasonable price?

I ultimately did OE struts and re-used the spring. I've seen folks like @ruthrj say they had good experiences with the KYB quick struts, but on the same token seen plenty of folks say they hate them.

It’s that time again need new all season tires

On price, that's for sure! I have had Michelins on this CX-5 before and I really liked how they rode (Latitude Tour). Had them on from 2013 to 2017. The problem? They wear out WAY faster than they should. Don't think I even got 50k out of them. Given the price premium Michelin asks for these...

Any particular factors driving you towards the Pirelli? Good to know about hydroplaned resistance though. So CX-5 with them was more prone to hydroplaning?

It’s that time again need new all season tires

2014 CX-5 Touring with 225/65R17 sizing. Well last summer was the last of my General Altimax RT43's. As such I am now in need of new all season tires so I can take off my winter tires. I mostly liked the Altimax tires, but not entirely. The tradeoff when I got them way back when was that they...

High Mileage CX-5 Owners Strut Replacement?

Last summer needed to do front struts, front lower control arms, and front sway bar links. I replaced with OEM Mazda parts I ordered online (reused current springs). So far been very happy with performance that was restored.

    Higher Mileage CX-5s

About to hit 145k on my 2014. Far below some on here, but just reporting in that just about 12 years in (bought it April 20, 2013), still going strong. Needed front suspension work last year (both LCA's, struts, sway bar links) in terms of major work. Otherwise still doing normal maintenance. I...

    Spark Plugs: OEM vs Aftermarket

Sorry to thread necro, but when I last put in spark plugs and got scared into buying the OEM Mazda branded ones, let me tell you....they were NGK ILKAR7L11's with a Mazda logo printed on them. They didn't even bother to hide the NGK brand and model number. So as long as sourcing them from...
