    Auto unlock options?

No--that's too hard. OP is looking for an "easier" way. Maybe OP can find replacement door handles that have the sensor on the back of the handle like his Jeep which are compatible with Mazda, and replace them. That would make it "easier".... #FirstWorldProblems

Truth or Scam regarding CPO program "fees"

Just because dealer ads strictly follow laws, doesn't make them NOT shady. They know that if they jam details into fine print no one will read, that they "comply" with the law. ^^^^ Sorry--legal, but shady.

Truth or Scam regarding CPO program "fees"

^^This. When I bought my '12 CX-9, I had a AAA price quote from the dealer, printed out with all of the options I wanted. I brought it in, and sat face-to-face with the salesman. He wrote his price on that sheet of paper, in his own handwriting. A week later, when I was ready to pull the...

Truth or Scam regarding CPO program "fees"

That's a bait and switch. I'd tell him to bring his manager out, and you'll do the talking directly.

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

But it's not like Mazda makes its own infotainment system. Who is Mazda's supplier? It's not like Mazda can't find a new supplier if the system isn't up to Mazda's QC standards.

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

But I think you are oversimplifying. To your point, if "all else is equal", then let that be the deciding factor. It is never the case where all else is equal--but between CX-9, Highlander, Pilot, Santa Fe, Sorento, and whatever other competitor you want to plug in, a buyer is going to get a...

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Except that you didn't previously say that it was "fine and dandy" for others to have a different priority in their car buying purchase. You had a clear commentary as to what a buyer should prioritize; that's not exactly the same message as "Diff'rent strokes for different folks." You can...

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Best "combo" of what you wanted? That just can't be. You are supposed to ONLY want the CX-9 because it drives like a Mazda. You can't want other features--if you do, you just shouldn't be driving the CX-9. ..... At least, that's what I read...somewhere..... (dunno)

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

It's not an Owner's Forum without complaints about whatever car the forum is for. And if you are 100% satisfied with your car, with no complaints, nothing you would change, and no desire to add features your car lacks, the kudos to you.

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

So we are comparing the CX-9 to Porsches, Jags and Lambos now? (uhm) Those companies make SUVs because they realize that they can make a s***-ton of $$ doing it. Enthusiasts (those are who we keep talking about here, right) were appalled when the first Cayenne was introduced. "Ridiculous!"...

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

So what you are saying is you settled for a CX-9 because you like cars, and reality doesn't allow you to have your sports car and your SUV. Which puts you in an incredibly small minority of people as to what they prioritize when shopping for an SUV. And if Mazda only focuses on those people...

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Sorry--but this is just not the case. If you are a purist, buy a stripped down Miata, and call it a day. If you are driving a CX-9 because you "like cars", something's wrong. The CX-9 is a family hauler, that people spend a lot of time in, going all over town, most of the times, not for "fun"...

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Baby steps--2018 CX-9s in upper trims have heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Not sure what's so compelling about Apple Car Play that would make me want to pay after the fact to have it installed? Maybe if it mirrored Waze or Google Maps (which I didn't even think Android Auto did).

Mazda CX-9 adds rear seat entertainment system on new and late-model years

Mazda's been behind the times in tech for a long time. My '12 nav/bluetooth set up was not even on par with my '07 Lexus that I had when I bought the Mazda. And it was an easy comparison because the nav system was from the same supplier.

Mazda CX-9 adds rear seat entertainment system on new and late-model years

The fact is, my kids, with their young eyes, are perfectly happy watching something on their phones. They may turn the basketball game off from our 60-inch TV, and go up to their rooms and watch the end of the game on their phones. So there's no way I'd kick in $2,000 for a road-trip feature...

Mazda CX-9 adds rear seat entertainment system on new and late-model years

Numerous other features I'd rather them add instead of this.

    Would you buy? CX-6

Those days are gone. In this class of vehicle, it is just not worth the extra production costs to make a non-3rd row version for the minuscule sales they will get out of it.

    Would you buy? CX-6

Define "too low." What are you comparing CX-9's MPGs to? CR-V or CX-5? Because CX-9's MPGs are better than most of its direct competitors, since they mostly have V6s. What's Explorer's MPGs with its 2.3L Ecoboost? But none of those cars are anything like an Outback, even if some Outback...

    Would you buy? CX-6

I think because they have all concluded that the Outback is an anomaly. Kind of the same way that there are so few minivans left (4?).
