    New CX5 Owner - Questions

No matter how i sit(knees apart, close together, slouching, sitting straight, somewhere in the middle) the overly firm bolsters are putting pressure on the joint where my legs meet my hips. Pretty sure that is also where the sciatic nerve is.

2017~2025 CX-5 Possible rodent or mice under the hood

This. I’ve removed 3 nests from this location on my wife’s 16 CX5 and a few from the 3s we had. Last winter we had a real problem in 16. Damn things ate threw the cabin air filter and munched on a bunch of foam within the air vents. My wife called me freaking out one morning because when she...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Agreed. 38*F on the drive home, totally different vehicle.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

I’m in VT and I’m really regretting this purchase. Go test drive one when it’s in the teens, that’s when it’s most consistent.

It’s not about driving like you’re on a drag strip. It’s about the car consistently performing the way it should. You don’t need to drive like you’re on a drag strip to notice the issue if you are in tune with your car.

    Winter driving

Sounds like you gave it to much throttle and cut the wheel too fast. I can get the cx5s to step out, but I have to try. Assuming you’ve a never driven a rear wheel drive vehicle in the snow before, or ever pulled the e-brake to spin around . Go to an empty parking lot when there is snow to get...

    Squealing brakes on 2019 GTR

Mine was doing this a few months ago at around 10k miles. I didn’t do anything and now, 3k miles later, it’s gone.

    New CX5 Owner - Questions

I’m always shocked to hear anyone thinks they are comfortable. I agree support is important and comfort is subjective. But sitting on top of hard bolsters is not supportive, just painful(for my skinny frame). Base bolsters should be holding your thighs in places, not squeezing your cheeks. My...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Good to hear there is another dealer that is admitting there is an issue. I have no hope though. Good luck niavlys. I’ll write Mazda as well. 23*F on the way into work this morning and it was an issue, so as mentioned in other posts, it’s not just below 20. It’s inconsistent for sure.

Next time temps get down there again, try 4th gear manual mode and see how it pulls.

Makes sense. Wasn’t sure if you gave up and were ready to move on to another vehicle.

    CAUTION! Windshield Replacement

Some insurance companies won’t cover OEM if a cheaper aftermarket option is available. Back when I had an OEM windshield installed in our 16.5 GT, Geico tried disputing the claim because it was more expensive OEM glass. The glass shop took care of it for be and explained that at the time, OEM...

    CAUTION! Windshield Replacement

Good to hear it’s resolved. The GT-R windshield is definitely stronger than the gen 1. I’ve taken quite a few hits. One, however, was too much. Low speed (25 mph) out of state car that I was driving too close to on the way home from snowboarding. A huge rock hit almost dead center which...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

I’m also unsure if it’s just IAT. It was 18*F on the way home today. After sitting in traffic for 5+ minutes, I was the first car at the light next to an Audi A6- I punched it on the green and it felt just fine(the older gentleman in the Audi had no interest) but I was shocked at how it...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Waste of my time. The local dealer lied about checking the transmission fluid. Dealer I purchased the car from is 2+ hours away. And the reality is, this is likely intentional. It’s just that Mazda didn’t do a good job with the tune to make is less noticeable. Other threads linked here show...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

0*F on the drive home tonight. Same loss in every gear from what I can tell. Pulls normal from 2k-2,500 then just falls flat. Such a disappointment.

2017~2025 Removing Drivers Seat Mazda CX-5 GT 2017

Interested in this as well. I’m going to pull the seat to bring to an upholstery shop to try and make the base tolerable. I’m planning on disconnecting the battery because of the air bag.

    2020 CX-5 observations and reviews

From the pictures I’ve seen they’re exactly the same. I suppose they could have changed the foam in the lower bolsters.

GT-R 2019 - Can't drive with only parking lights on?

Yup. The DRLs are the headlights but slightly dimmer. Also makes for a not so sleek looking appearance during the day. Would me much better looking if just the outside halo/parking lights were the DRLs.
